WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
17:30 – Dame Kiri
The runners with form don’t make much appeal, so this is a guessing game regarding newcomers. DAME KIRI is by the same sire as the yard’s exciting Statuette and seems their selected runner here, so is given the nod. Her stablemate Maybe Just Maybe and A Moment Like This are also interesting.
18:00 – Elzaam Blue
Having not enjoyed the clearest of passages at Naas last time, ELZAAM BLUE could notch a first Turf win today, with the addition of cheekpieces a likely help. Mulgrave looks the most interesting of John McConnell’s quartet, while the consistent Apple Of His Eye and Chaos Control are respected.
18:30 – Howth
All of these have a squeak. HOWTH will find this company a lot less taxing than his previous tasks this term and could get back to winning ways. All In The Mind and McTigue were runner-up against older rivals last time and, though penalised for that, are still capable of big runs.

19:00 – Darkened
This is competitive. DARKENED was very impressive when winning over hurdles at Kilbeggan last time and makes plenty of appeal back in this sphere, with a good draw in stall eight. Smaoineamh Sile won in good style here last time and could go well again off a 10lb higher mark. Innamorare and Pro Bono were beaten on that occasion and are sure to be involved again, as is recent Down Royal second Reverberation. Tudor Manor was very unlucky at Limerick and may be able to build on that here.
19:30 – Flying Dolphin
A good renewal where a case can be made for plenty. World Famous is a very interesting runner, stepping into this company on his handicap debut. Atavique is riding the crest of a wave at present and is sure to be there once again, while Joseph O’Brien’s other runner Entropy and Star Harbour are also of interest. However, preference is for FLYING DOLPHIN who ran a cracker in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot given the circumstances and gets a generous pull at the weights here.

20:00 – Rosscarbery (NAP)
A cracking renewal but it’s very hard to oppose ROSSCARBERY (nap). She’s excelled since joining Paddy Twomey and ran a blinder to finish third in the Pretty Polly, albeit disqualified in controversial circumstances in the aftermath. A reproduction should see her land this. Quenelle D’or looks the best of the British raiders with Colin Keane booked, while Mighty Blue and Emily Dickinson are others sure to be on the premises.
20:30 – Okita Soushi
It’s very hard to get away from OKITA SOUSHI after a cracking run at Royal Ascot. He should take care of business here. Sandhurst is a talented sort who could give the selection most to think about, but he has a 428 day absence to overcome. Shanroe can take bronze.
