13:50 – Dunnington Lad

A claimer that should rest between DUNNINGTON LAD and Dragon Glory and the former is preferred. Although the latter clearly still offers some potential, the selection is favoured on these terms and can take advantage.

14:20 – Sherman Klumpf

Varden Kite could improve now tackling a handicap, while a more obvious contender is Lily In The Jungle. She is feared most but the suggestion is to side with SHERMAN KLUMPF, who was third in a Beverley claimer last time and has the potential for improvement in nursery company.

14:50 – Noteable

Golden Gal has to be taken very seriously given both her course form and recent efforts. However, the arguably less exposed NOTEABLE get the vote. She’ll have to bounce back from her latest effort but her prior run at Doncaster entitles her to claims from this mark. Woodlands Charm is more consistent than fellow last-time winner Where’s Diana and should again be in the shake-up.

15:20 – Urban Sprawl

An interesting and potentially competitive nursery where URBAN SPRAWL appeals as one who can maintain his improvement now up in trip and entering this sphere. Manwhothinkshecan could present the biggest danger, although none of the field is written off.

15:50 – Moonlit Warrior

While Bollin Neil is highly respected on his return to Catterick, this may be best left to the 3yos MOONLIT WARRIOR and Campese who try this sort of trip for the first time and bring some potential. Moonlit Warrior looks the more solid of the pair, with his two wins and two seconds since going handicapping.

16:20 – Doomsday

Doncaster winner The Grey Wolf can play another leading role if the blinkers maintain their effect but this could go to DOOMSDAY, who has run well in defeat the last twice and should be winning soon. Lincoln Pride isn’t straightforward but is certainly capable.

16:50 – Dreamcasing

Having kept on well when a gambled-on second of 20 over 6f at Thirsk last Wednesday, there’s every chance the very lightly raced 4yo DREAMCASING (nap) will be fine now he’s back up in trip and he is taken to go one better. Mr Trevor hasn’t enjoyed much luck the last twice and is second choice, ahead of Ginato whose stable is in much better form than was the case when he last raced.

17:20 – Mr Strutter

The in-form top weight MR STRUTTER won Division II of this race 12 months ago and can follow suit this afternoon and post his sixth C&D victory. Desert Dream has gone very close the last twice and could be the chief threat ahead of Key Look, who was unlucky over C&D two starts ago.

Catterick best bets:

13:50 – Dunnington Lad
14:20 – Sherman Klumpf
14:50 – Noteable
15:20 – Urban Sprawl
15:50 – Moonlit Warrior
16:20 – Doomsday
16:50 – Dreamcasing
17:20 – Mr Strutter
