Inspiral headlines the small-but-select field set to go to post in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes on Friday.

The Frankel filly crushed her rivals in the Coronation Stakes on her seasonal reappearance last month and will have Frankie Dettori back in the saddle for the Newmarket 3.35 after the Italian jockey kissed and made up with trainer John Gosden.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Prosperous Voyage and Sandrine reoppose from last month’s clash at Royal Ascot, while four-year-olds Primo Bacio and Sibila Spain complete the pack and must give 9lbs to their younger rivals.

You can find our handy runner-by-runner guide to the field of five plus Falmouth Stakes betting tips from Paddy Power’s experts below.

Falmouth Stakes runners

Primo Bacio

Trainer: Ed Walker Jockey: Richard Kingscote Age: 4 Weight: 9st 9lbs Draw: 4

Smart filly at her best (luckless fifth of 13 in this last year) and better effort this term when third of 7 in the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot, nearest finish. More on her plate now.

Sibila Spain

Trainer: Christopher Head Jockey: Aurelien Lemaitre Age: 4 Weight: 9st 9lbs Draw: 3

Likeable filly who eked out a bit more improvement under a change of tactics (held up) when scoring in the Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud in May under this rider. Forecast claims on that. Withdrawn after getting upset in stalls prior to Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot, Jun 15.

Inspiral

Trainer: John & Thady Gosden Jockey: Frankie Dettori Age: 3 Weight: 9st 0lbs Draw: 5

The top 2-y-o filly in 2021 and returned with a dazzling display as she took her record to 5-5 with an emphatic victory in the Coronation last month, showing a great turn of foot and quickening clear under Dettori. Looks special and further success beckons.

Prosperous Voyage

Trainer: Ralph Beckett Jockey: Rob Hornby Age: 3 Weight: 9st 0lbs Draw: 1

Disappointing when chasing home Inspiral for a third time in last month’s Coronation but was caught wide and had previously made an excellent return when narrowly beaten in the 1000 Guineas. Should bounce back.

Sandrine

Trainer: Andrew Balding Jockey: David Probert Age: 3 Weight: 9st 0lbs Draw: 2

Won her first 3 starts last year, notably the Albany, and the Duchess of Cambridge at this meeting. Good efforts upped to 1m this term, doing her best work at the finish in the 1000 Guineas and better than the result behind Inspiral in the Coronation. Could have a bigger performance in the locker.

Falmouth Stakes tips

Matt Chapman: I’d like to be able to say something clever here but we all know that unless she has a headache INSPIRAL will win for the Gosdens and, of course, regular partner Frankie Dettori. The outstanding juvenile was brilliant on her return in the Coronation Stakes and this should be easy pickings before she takes on the boys.

Rory Delargy: INSPIRAL looks unbeatable and no one else wanted to turn up for this. I’m therefore looking at who will finish second in terms of the forecast. I’m struggling to work out why Prosperous Voyage was so poor at Royal Ascot. Sandrine finished fifth in the 1000 Guineas and ran well that day. She then finished seventh behind Inspiral last time out but she could have finished higher if a couple of things had gone her way. I’d side with Sandrine to chase Inspiral home, however, you can make a point for Prosperous Voyage if you fancy her to bounce back.

Timeform: Impossible to oppose the fantastic INSPIRAL, who was very impressive in the Coronation at Royal Ascot and should take her record to 6-6. 1000 Guineas runner-up Prosperous Voyage wasn’t able to show what she’s capable of at Royal Ascot and could be the one for the forecast.

Jason Weaver: The unbeaten and all-conquering INSPIRAL is impossible to oppose and looks to maintain her 100% record. Get ready for a flying Frankie Dettori dismount!
