WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:00 – Lotus Rose (NAP)

So Smart and Van Gerwen have claims in an open event but the one that appeals most is LOTUS ROSE (nap). Roger Fell’s filly, who won’t mind any of the forecast showers, returned to winning ways at Redcar last time and that form could hardly have worked out any better with the four immediately behind her all winning since.

13:30 – Storm Chaser

Although STORM CHASER was allowed an easy lead in a lesser event (for inexperienced riders) at Nottingham last time, she routed the opposition by upwards of 26 lengths and, given she incurs no penalty (she’ll be 11lb higher in future), it’s not difficult to envisage a follow-up at a track that suits front-running. Greek Flame, who is bred to appreciate this trip on turf, looks a suitable each-way alternative.

14:00 – Tuddenham Green

In a fascinating line-up, several have already made their mark in handicaps and that includes two last-time-out winners as well as Hilts who scored twice before an unaccountably disappointing show last time. On the other hand there are several eyecatching handicap newcomers who could be about to be revealed in a new light. That group may be headed by the very stoutly bred TUDDENHAM GREEN, who has not raced this season, and Mr Moonstorm. They top the list.

14:30 – Endeared

Desert Hero is a Derby entry and well-bred newcomer from a top yard but his pedigree suggests he’ll likely need further (even at this stage) and he’s taken on with the more experienced pair ENDEARED and Captain Winters. Narrow preference is for the former, who shaped well at Doncaster on debut and is open to improvement.

15:00 – Thunder Legend

An interesting event in which it wouldn’t surprise to see Haymaker return to his best after a below-par effort soon after his improved reappearance run. However, he’s taken on with THUNDER LEGEND, who has improved steadily with racing and he was in front of a subsequent winner when posting his best effort last time. Espressoo looks best of the remainder.

15:30 – Aristobulus

Substantial is a lightly raced sort who has potential but he didn’t look straightforward when chinned at skinny odds on AW at Newcastle last time. The return to 7f may help but he’s taken on with ARISTOBULUS, who has run well on both starts this season (including over C&D) and is the sort to improve further. Lost In Time gets the cheekpieces for this drop in trip and may do better. Gweedore went very close at Musselburgh yesterday.

16:00 – Secret Image

Topweight SECRET IMAGE looks interesting on his return from a layoff. He had an excuse when last seen and could well resume his progress. Fellow handicap debutants Knight Of Honour (second choice) and Broadspear may prove the biggest threats.
