Calva D’Auge was the better horse over hurdles but his last two runs in that sphere were disappointing and he folded rather tamely when the beaten favourite in a match on last month’s chasing debut. CARYS’ COMMODITY might have been unlucky not to win here on his chasing effort in the autumn and, after a perfectly respectable run one month ago, he has less to prove.

18:50 – Sir Tivo (nap)
This can go to six-time chase winner SIR TIVO (nap), who has been in good form this spring and is still on a workable mark. Dino Velvet wasn’t at his best when last in action but will be dangerous in this company if back on song. Larch Hill looked as good as every when winning over C&D last month and is also considered
19:20 – Une De La Seniere
Hidden Depths is 9lb higher than when winning easily at Hereford in the autumn but he proved his wellbeing on the Flat in Jersery last month and is not opposed with any confidence. However, UNE DE LA SENIERE got her career back on track when reverting to hurdling this spring and, still well handicapped, may provide Robert Law-Eadie with his first winner under rules. Mr Yeats and Justified are others to consider.
19:50 – On Springs
Cremant won off today’s mark over hurdles at Aintree 18 days ago but his jumping was sketchy in both chases last season and he’ll need to be much more fluent this time. Preference is for ON SPRINGS, who looked in excellent nick when winning two starts ago and certainly wasn’t disgraced when beaten under a penalty a few days later. Captain Ivan suffered an early mishap on his latest outing but began his chasing career with two encouraging runs and is second choice.
20:20 – Fountain Cross
There isn’t much to separate a clutch of these on hurdling form but one with some potential is FOUNTAIN CROSS, who finished behind The Plumber when third at Southwell three weeks ago but was a talented Flat-racer and might improve as he gains experience in this sphere. Patient Dream was a shade disappointing at Huntingdon last time but his earlier handicap form makes him of strong interest. Larusso is next on the list.

20:50 – Shady Daisy
Ilanz created a pretty good impression at Market Rasen 11 days ago and is open to further improvement but SHADY DAISY is sure to have entered several notebooks after recovering well from some significant interference to take third on her debut at Newton Abbot. She gets the nod. Illusion Of Time is a newcomer with good credentials on paper.
