13:25 – Metahorse

Shaped with promise when third on debut at Chester earlier this month, despite showing his inexperience. METAHORSE was slowly away and raced wide, while he also showed signs of greenness inside the final furlong, hanging to his left. He ought to improve with that experience under his belt.

14:00 – Eight of Diamonds

Has been in good form this season, winning once and finishing placed on the other four outings. EIGHT OF DIAMONDS ran up to his best when only narrowly denied at Carlisle last week, going down by just a short-head after making his challenge from the rear in a steadily-run race. That effort suggests that he’s still on a fair mark that he can defy.

14:35 – Bear Profit

BEAR PROFIT looked like a potentially useful sprinter when making a winning debut at Chelmsford in April and, despite meeting with defeat on his two subsequent outings, he is worth siding with on his handicap debut. Bear Profit didn’t do much wrong when runner-up at Windsor last time, attempting to concede almost a stone to the winner, and an opening mark of 82 looks lenient based on that performance. This lightly-raced sprinter still has more to offer.

15:10 – Sea Tsarina

She had a successful start at Yarmouth, taking her time to wear down one who had experience but was ultimately well on top by the line. SEA TSARINA was by no means fully extended to score by a length and a quarter and there should be plenty still to come from this daughter of Sea The Stars. She is capable of defying a penalty here.

15:45 – Dream Show

Not much went right for DREAM SHOW on his handicap debut and seasonal reappearance at Goodwood in April as he was hampered at the start and then raced freely. He proved a different proposition at Newbury last time, however, as he settled better on the front end and then found plenty for pressure to share the spoils in a competitive-looking three-year-old handicap. Dream Show still looks well treated after going up 5 lb in the weights, a rise that is offset by the booking of ace apprentice Harry Davies.

16:20 – Roxzoff

ROXZOFF has had a productive time of things in 2022 and he registered his fourth win of the year when scoring at Sandown last month. Roxzoff had to settle for second at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago but he ran as well as ever behind a progressive and unexposed rival. He is clearly operating at the top of his game at present and is able to run off the same mark here, so he looks the one to beat.

16:55 – Calvinist

CALVINIST may be a nine-year-old and not as good as he once was, but he showed when third at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago that he is on a competitive mark. Calvinist shaped a bit better than the result would suggest at Wetherby as the gaps failed to open just as the race was taking shape. With better luck he might be able to take advantage of his modest mark here.
