13:10 – The Toff
The market should help with the newcomers, of whom More Than A Grey and Wilde And Dandy appeal most, but this may rest between Tuddenham Mill and THE TOFF. The pair ran with promise amidst evident inexperience on their respective debuts and The Toff could be open to the greater improvement.

13:45 – Aphelios
As If By Chance has won three of his last six starts and he made it 2-3 in a visor when scoring at Thirsk three weeks ago. He’s respected but preference is for the Charltons’ lightly raced 3yo APHELIOS (nap), who showed a good attitude when beating a clear second on his handicap/turf debut at Windsor and has plenty of scope for further progress. Prince Of Bel Lir has also raised his form to a new level this season but he didn’t really fire in his hat-trick bid last time and needs to step up again after that.
14:20 – Wonderful Times
This looks a good opportunity for the Gosdens’ WONDERFUL TIMES, who chased home smart stablemates in her first two runs before looking stretched on the step up to 1m4f at Newbury last time. She sets a clear standard back at this trip and should be hard to beat. The main danger is Qabilah, who shaped with promise at Thirsk last month and is likely improver upped to 1m2f on her second start. Others to keep an eye on are the well-bred newcomers Coercion and Mountain Queen.
14:55 – Counsel
The standout contender is COUNSEL, who has some striking form in the book and sets a high standard on his peak effort. He returns from a year off but is back in much calmer waters and should take some stopping in his bid to make it fifth time lucky. The main threat could come from Godolphin’s Border Edge, who looked inexperienced at Doncaster in March and could show a lot more upped now in trip on his second start.

15:30 – Adjudicator
A few of these have made the running in the past but there’s no confirmed pace on show and the prospect of a messy race muddies the waters. Kaasirr (second choice) and Flaming Lord both feature prominently in calculations but ADJUDICATOR found plenty at Sandown last time and he looks well worth another crack at this trip.
16:05 – Stone Circle
There are not many runners but this looks competitive. Eeh Bah Gum (second choice) ended a long losing run with his game win at Musselburgh and he’s respected off his revised mark, while Lucky Shake turned things around with a close call at Redcar last time and has claims if she can back that up. However, the vote goes to STONE CIRCLE, who got back on the scoresheet with his comfortable success at Chepstow on Monday and may well be able to follow up under a penalty.

16:40 – Hidden Pearl
Diamond Cutter has let his supporters down this season but he’s clearly thought to be ahead of his mark. Russian Rumour comes here in form and should go well, while Master Grey, Storm Chaser and Destinado all have something to recommend them. HIDDEN PEARL has had plenty of chances but she ran with great credit over C&D last week and she may prove the answer.
