Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets.
13:35 Worcester – Elios DOr (myracing.com)
With new headgear fitted, Pencreek and, in particular, Courtandbould make a fair amount of appeal. However, ELIOS D’OR won as he liked at Ludlow last month and this dual C&D winner can score again off 7lb higher.
14:25 Carlisle – Jackhammer (Mirror)
Although War Of Words brings potential to his first handicap, he may lack the necessary experience so the two to concentrate on look to be last year’s winner Tangled and JACKHAMMER. The selection has been in fine form over hurdles and returns to the Flat off a very fair mark at a venue where he has won three times, including this race in 2019. Maysong looks the best of the rest.
15:15 Salisbury – Morghom (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
This testing 1m raises a slight question for MORGHOM whose dynamic winning 1m debut at Newbury was followed by a less satisfactory one over 7f there when seeing too much daylight and fading after racing freely. He can get more cover from this draw and really ought to be a big player at this level. Epsom didn’t suit Carolus Magnus at the Derby meeting but these conditions can suit better and he could be the main danger ahead of Dubai Mirage and Rousay.
18:20 Kempton – Betweenthesticks (Racing Post)
The leading contender is BETWEENTHESTICKS, who was knocking on the door in his two runs last month and had an excuse on slow ground at Brighton 15 days ago. He now goes up in trip but he’s out of a 1m Polytrack winner and is a big player if he bounces back to near his best on this switch to AW. Bellazzo caught the eye with his strong finish at Windsor on his debut and he’s feared most, ahead of Hurtle, who also looks a likely improver on his second start. The most interesting newcomer is George Boughey’s Hadley Park.
