NOVAPORTIAN ran well on his debut to finish third at Haydock despite running green and is entitled to improve now with some experience under his belt. X J Rascal represents the in-form yard of George Boughey and should go close in his bid to follow up from a winning debut at Brighton, whilst Hoy has also shown ability and can step forward here.
14:25 – Tangled
Successful from a 5 lb higher mark in this race 12 months ago, TANGLED signalled he’s coming to the boil again when runner-up to a three-year-old at Beverley eight days ago and he could well be ready to cash in with his in-form rider Laura Coughlan taking off a valuable 5 lb. Bringitonboris, Abduction and Jackhammer head up the dangers, whilst War of Words is less exposed than most and would need considering if strong in the betting on his handicap bow.

MAKEEN has progressed again this term, impressing with the way he travelled to score with plenty in hand over shorter here 26 days ago. A good pace to aim at will suit Julie Camacho’s five-year-old and he can make another bold bid from a handy draw in stall three. Pisanello is enjoying a good campaign and is feared, along with A Boy Named Ivy, Global Spirit and King Triton.
15:25 – Strawman
STRAWMAN got back on the up with victory at Redcar three weeks ago, seeing off three subsequent winners. He should stay this longer trip and could well go in again under Connor Beasley. My Little Queens took another step forward when making a successful return at Wetherby and has a good shout too over this new trip. Musselburgh 1-2-3 El Picador, Emaraty Hero and Grand Canal must also come into the reckoning.

This listed contest looks a good opportunity for OSCULA to resume winning ways back against her own sex after her second at Epsom last time. Atomic Lady might have needed her comeback run and is feared on her two-year-old form, with Musselburgh listed winner Snooze N You Lose also considered under a penalty.
16:30 – Kodias Sangarius
KODIAS SANGARIUS ran her best race to date when runner-up behind a progressive sort in Twelfth Knight at Windsor over six furlongs nine days ago, staying on to go down by a head. She gets the nod to confirm the promise of that run operating from the same mark and tackling this slightly longer trip. Bungley and Qipao are others fancied to play a part.
