This may go the way of MASCAT, who has been running to a decent level on the Flat for his new yard and should continue the good work back over jumps. Samba Dancer is feared most on this return to hurdling, with Birds Of Prey and Ayr Of Elegance also in the mix.

This has the look of a very moderate juvenile hurdle. CAPTAIN SQUARE and Alphonse Le Grande were the best of them on the Flat and the selection has joined a jumps-orientated yard.
18:20 – Gentle Connections
This will probably concern GENTLE CONNECTIONS and Belles Benefit, who are favoured by the weights even with their penalties. It might be close, but the Skelton runner edges preference.
18:55 – Zoran
Tarseem was ahead of ZORAN here recently but the selection would have been closer but for late mistakes and here’s hoping blinkers can aid his concentration. Sweet Nightingale is respected in her current form and now returned to Class 5 level.

19:30 – Kilchreest Moon
A trappy handicap with none of the runners particularly convincing. This is a belated first run over fences for KILCHREEST MOON, but he’s not had a lot of racing for his age and his recent hurdle form is solid. Although Moans Cross has become hard to predict he’s capable at this level if refreshed from a break.

20:00 – Kauto The King
If Black Gerry (second choice) and Mr Mafia both attempt to repeat the front-running tactics that served them so well last time they could set this up for KAUTO THE KING (nap), who knows how to get the job done.
20:30 – Belle Jour
Port O’Clock won’t be far away if turned out again after his pleasing stable debut at the weekend and Crawford is from a family that does better over fences than hurdles, so he’s a possible improver. However, BELLE JOUR and My Lady Grey appeal as the most convincing candidates and, back on drier ground, Chris Gordon’s gelding gets the nod.
