GOLDEN GAL was beaten one and a quarter lengths by Fylingdale at Catterick last time, but she is drawn better than that rival here, and that could prove the difference on these revised terms. She has plenty of speed and front runners can be seen to good effect at this track, so she gets a narrow verdict to resume winning ways. Enraged is another one to consider with a highly promising apprentice on board.

14:15 – Absolute Queen
ABSOLUTE QUEEN’s sales price more than doubled from foal to yearling and she made a promising debut when narrowly beaten by an above-average type at Nottingham last week. She was never stronger than at the finish on that occasion, leaving the impression she’ll relish this step up in trip, and should prove hard to beat with improvement forthcoming. Crackovia doesn’t have much to find with the selection on her debut form and has to be respected in a race where the pair could well dominate.
14:45 – Proud Archi
Plenty in with chances but PROUD ARCHI, who was second in this last year, should be back to his best after fading late on behind Saisons d’Or here four weeks ago. A wide run into the straight probably left him a little short in the finish, but he should be spot on now, and another bold bid is expected at a track where he goes particularly well at. That race has worked out pretty well, though, and his old rival seems sure to be on the premises again up just 2 lb for that success.

15:15 – Myristica
MYRISTICA attracted support and just about proved better than ever when resuming winning ways at Ripon last week, looking in rude health as she did so, looking the winner from some way out. The manner of that success makes her look well treated turned out under a 5 lb penalty and she will be very hard to beat if in the same form in a race which doesn’t look any more competitive. Fairmac wasn’t seen to best effect in a different race on the same card and he needs treating as though still in form.
15:45 – Miss Clementine
MISS CLEMENTINE took a sizeable step forward on her handicap debut at Nottingham last week, not doing anything quickly but keeping on well in the closing stages. She will likely be better suited by a return to further, but she is clearly on a good mark, and is up to winning a race of this nature from the same mark. Coligone Kate is feared most on the back of her promising effort at Wetherby last time.

16:15 – Termonator
TERMONATOR needs to be forgiven his last couple of runs, and the losing run he is on is mounting up, but as a result he has fallen to an attractive mark. He was also ridden by an amateur jockey who was having her first ride under Rules last time, while Grant Tuer is in much better form now, so there are reasons to think he can bounce back with a good apprentice booked. Clan Jock, who shed the maiden tag at Hamilton two weeks ago, may prove the biggest danger.
16:45 – Music Romance
Shawnee Warrior won at Chepstow on Monday so won’t be running and that presents MUSICAL ROMANCE with an excellent opportunity to open her account. She has finished runner-up on both starts so far, but improved over this course and distance last time, and should prove hard to beat in what now looks a weak race. Robertthebruce is next best.
