It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets.
14:35 Worcester – Millbank Flyer (Racing Post, Postdata)
MILLBANK FLYER is still a maiden but not had that many chances, with six of his seven defeats divided between hurdles and fences; his best run was when second in a Hereford novice hurdle on good to soft; can go well.
16:15 Pontefract – Highwaygrey (The Irish Field, Rory Delargy)
HIGHWAYGREY’s eight runs at Pontefract include four wins and two seconds; he was 13lb higher in the weights this time last year and has been to this track only once in the interim, when second of four last September; no impact this term but his return here could spark a revival.
16:25 Hexham – Follow Your Arrow (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
FOLLOW YOUR ARROW is an upwardly mobile 6yo who put up a personal best when winning over C&D (good) at the start of this month, never far away and sealing victory with a good jump at the last; open to further improvement and may follow up.
18:15 Pontrefact – Aguaplano (Daily Record, Garry Owen)
AGUAPLANO has form figures of 2212 since being gelded, the win registered in Redcar maiden; close second in Doncaster handicap (1m, good) last time, splitting a progressive filly and Tarbaan; solid contender who should go well again.
