A tight-knit handicap in which LADY BABS is taken to build on her promising Market Rasen second (which came after an absence) and get back to winning ways. The reliable Major Snugfit seems sure to have a say on the back of his recent C&D second and he is next on the list, while Chemical Warfare and Archive need factoring in too.
14:45 – Melburnian
A case can be made for all of these but it’s hard to side against Rebecca Menzies’ MELBURNIAN who made a promising start for the yard when second under a patient ride here and has more to offer, with this longer trip also a plus. Well Educated arrives in excellent nick and is next on the list, with Barney Stinson also weighted to have a say.
15:20 – The Vollan
Three-time C&D winner Prince Dundee is always to be much respected round here and in-form veteran Amalfi Doug can also make his presence felt. However, this looks an excellent opportunity for THE VOLLAN (nap) to exploit further his reduced chasing mark and add to his recent Southwell success for the excellent Laura Morgan.
15:55 – Grand Du Nord
Fair bumper scorer GRAND DU NORD showed the benefit of a wind op when posting a good recent second over C&D and can go one better in a maiden hurdle for which most arrive with a question mark against them. Belvedere Blast and Silver Coin look the pair best equipped to give him most to do and can chase home Micky Hammond’s 6yo in that order.

Four of these six have already been in winning form this season. Top billing goes to FOLLOW YOUR ARROW who was quite impressive over C&D last time and is open to further progress. Claims can be made for Seemingly So and Dolly Dancer as well, but perhaps the main threat will come from Kauto D’Amour who is potentially well treated for his second go at chasing having had wind surgery since he was last seen.
17:00 – Gone In Sixty
Runner-up on his debut last month, GONE IN SIXTY can go one better in a race that may not take much winning. Star Vantage comes into the reckoning on his debut form and the hood may help him to settle better today. I’m Dougal Rocks had an excuse first time out and needs considering as well. The newcomers should be watched in the market, with It’s Maisy, receiving weight all round, possibly the pick.
