14:30 – Bakeel

BAKEEL put up a really smart performance over course and distance on racecourse debut, despite being inexperienced in the run and being caught on the outside of the field. He can only take a massive step forward from that being a huge, physically powerful juvenile. The Andrew Balding team are already on the scoresheet this week.

15:05 – Israr

ISRAR‘s always going to have a big following as his mother was the superstar mare, Taghrooda. He’s now building a pretty impressive profile having not finished out of the first three in his career to date. His Newbury last time in a hot London Cup can be marked up as he came from way back and held on well in the closing stages. He has a middle stall position which should prove no problem for his hold-up tactics.

15:40 – Sea Silk Road

A typical improvement from the William Haggas yard and SEA SILK ROAD has been well on top in the closing stages on her last two tries. She took the step up into Listed company in her stride last time and can make another jump forward up into Group 2 company.

16:20 – Tashkhan (EW)

Having put up a smart performance at York behind Stradivarius, we know Brian Ellison’s TASHKHAN is not totally ground dependent. That is a big feather in his cap as a few in the featured Gold Cup would prefer some juice in the ground, which is not going to arrive. The 2m 4f trip looks sure to squeeze some more improvement from him and he can definitely get a slice of the action each-way at a massive price.

17:00 – Yonafis

We’re going to get a little bit of a bigger price about YONAFIS as he makes his turf debut after three unbeaten runs on the all-weather. He’s only been nudged up 4lb for a pretty smooth success at Wolverhampton last time and his profile would suggest he only just does enough to win by a small margin. Reports are he’s been working on the house down at Newmarket.

17:35 – Claymore

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s CLAYMORE could be the one to spoil the party as the Queen’s Reach For The Moon is 6lbs clear on official ratings. However, it won’t be straightforward as Claymore takes a significant drop back down in company again having finished second to Native Trail in the Craven Stakes. Tactics could well play a part with Reach For The Moon likely to make the running. He could prove a sitting duck to the late change of gear from Claymore.

18:10 – Tactical & Total Commitment (EW)

TACTICAL could provide the Queen with a Platinum Jubilee success as he takes a significant drop back down in grade from Stakes company, despite carrying a big weight. He’s got the class and quality to carry that no problem and looks prepped for a big run, having had a pipe opener 47 days ago. TOTAL COMMITMENT also comes under the same bracket, having had a nice prep run at Windsor 31 days ago. A return to the long sprint distance of 7f will play to his strengths and he’s not badly weighted.
