17:15 – Midnight Flame
Who knows what lurks amongst the newcomers and, without the benefit of market vibes, it makes sense to focus on those with experience. MIDNIGHT FLAME showed considerable promise in what was probably a hottish maiden at Goodwood (it usually is) and she’s preferred to Miska, though it would be no surprise should Dreaming Princess leave her debut effort behind.

17:50 – Applaud Now
An open race in which the vote goes to APPLAUD NOW, who finished a clear second behind an improver when dropped to 6f at Windsor three weeks ago and should have more to offer at this trip. Glory Hallelujah found plenty of improvement with his win at Thirsk last month and he’s feared most, ahead of Gidwa who has form figures of 1122 on AW and turf in his last four starts. Another to consider is Miss Britain, who could resume her progress on this drop back in grade.
18:20 – Nibras Again
This looks wide open but NIBRAS AGAIN has got himself dangerously handicapped and he was beaten under 3l on his reappearance when perhaps needing the run. Electric Love could be a big threat if getting away on terms and Grandfather Tom is another who might go well.
18:50 – Stranger Things
Hart Fell ran well for a long way when backed at Lingfield last time but STRANGER THINGS wasn’t that far behind him having come from an unpromising position. Copake may have a say if reacting positively to cheekpieces.

19:20 – Waltzing Intime
There’s guesswork involved in making cases for most of these. WALTZING INTIME hasn’t progressed from a decent debut but, being by a Derby winner, this longer trip is a cause for optimism. Minxie can also improve for stepping up in distance and she’s second choice ahead of Moon Over The Sea.
19:50 – Pride Of Hawridge
Elixsoft should go well again despite being 5lb higher than for her latest defeat but PRIDE OF HAWRIDGE (nap) appeals most. His Windsor reappearance suggests there could be more to come from him and Rod Millman’s horses are on fire at the minute.

20:20 – Cherry Cola
Last year’s winner CHERRY COLA is handicapped to go close once more and her recent run here was encouraging. George Bancroft, who won his final two starts of 2021, is best of the rest.
