13:45 – Miss Brazen
Miss Brazen created a good impression when making a successful debut at Redcar a couple of weeks ago and she can defy a penalty here. She scored by a length and a half at Redcar but was value for extra as she travelled smoothly and then asserted under just a hands-and-heels ride. She should progress for that initial experience.

14:15 – Princess Karine
Princess Karine was slowly away at Musselburgh on debut, showing her inexperience, but she kept on strongly inside the final couple of furlongs and ultimately ran out a comfortable winner, scoring by two and a half lengths. The strength Princess Karine showed at the finish at Musselburgh suggests this step up in trip should suit and she can make it two from two.
14:45 – Stone Circle
Stone Circle is on a long losing run of 16 that stretches back to October 2020 but he has tumbled in the weights and offered some encouragement at Yarmouth a couple of weeks ago. Stone Circle finished third in that seven-furlong handicap, impressing with how sweetly he travelled, and he can build on that promising display, with the drop back in trip not an issue.
15:15 – Polam Lane
Polam Lane has been running respectably without being quite at his best this season but he’s had excuses, including at Redcar last time when he ended up making his challenge wider than ideal. Polam Lane is on a handy mark, only 1 lb above the one he last defied, and he ought to give a good account.

15:45 – Eight of Diamonds
Eight of Diamonds has been in good form this season and can be relied upon to launch another bold bid. He showed a good attitude to register a narrow win at Lingfield in April and he has performed creditably in defeat twice since, finding only one too good at Bath and then beaten just over half a length in third at Salisbury. Eight of Diamonds looked set to score at Salisbury when he edged ahead two furlongs out, but he was overhauled by a couple of stronger stayers. This slight drop in trip will suit.
16:15 – Royal Countess
Royal Countess took a step back in the right direction when second past the post at Hamilton last month (she was subsequently demoted to third for causing interference) and she confirmed that promise when runner-up at Ayr last time, where she was unlucky to bump into a rival who had also dropped to a good mark. Royal Countess remains well treated on the pick of her form and this looks like a good opportunity for her to return to winning ways.

16:50 – Alethiometer
Alethiometer has made a promising start to her career and ran her best race yet when a close-up third at Doncaster earlier this month. Alethiometer was beaten only a nose and a neck on that occasion and she remains fairly treated after edging up only 2 lb in the weights. That was just her fifth outing so it’s possible she has a bit more to offer.
17:20 – End Zone
End Zone beat only one rival home at Thirsk last time but that effort can be easily overlooked as he helped force a strong pace and weakened as a conseqience. He is better judged on the form he showed at Pontefract on his penultimate outing, when he was beaten less than two lengths in third. He is able to race off 2 lb lower than at Pontefract, which places him just 1 lb above his last winning mark, so he remains competitively treated.
