13:35 – Jm Jungle
JM JUNGLE produced a career best when fourth in a minor event at Beverley last time, sticking to his task well to be beaten just a length and a half. That was a fairly useful performance and the way he shaped suggests he’ll be suited by stepping up to six furlongs. This is a much weaker race than the one he contested at Beverley and a repeat of that form will give him every chance of defying a penalty against inferior rivals.

14:10 – Copper Knight
COPPER KNIGHT has been below his best in four starts this season, but he offered a bit more to work on when fourth at Musselburgh last time. He passed the post less than three lengths behind the winner and there is certainly a strong case to be made for him if building on that run. A two-time winner over this course and distance earlier in his career, he showed he retains all his ability in 2021 and a BHA mark of 97 is 3 lb lower than when winning at Doncaster in October.
14:45 – Vulcan
VULCAN shaped encouragingly when filling the runner-up spot at Haydock last time, looking right back to his best with his reappearance under his belt. He was ultimately no match for the winner on the day, but there was a lot to like about the way he travelled and came away from the rest. He is only 2 lb higher in the weights today and another bold bid seems assured for Ralph Beckett, who has his yard in rude health (68% of horses running to form).
15:20 – Bullet Force
BULLET FORCE shaped a bit better than the bare result when fourth at York three weeks ago, doing well to be beaten only four lengths after racing closer to the strong gallop than ideal. He is 1 lb lower in the weights today and the application of a first-time visor might be what he needs to eke out a bit more improvement. In a wide-open heat, he could easily outrun his odds if conserving his energy better than he did on the Knavesmire.

15:55 – Spirit Mixer
SPIRIT MIXER is improving in leaps and bounds and his latest win at this course was achieved in totally dominant fashion, quickening clear from two furlongs out to land the spoils by two and a half lengths. This will be tougher again following a further 7 lb climb in the weights, but it’s not out of the question that he may yet have more to offer. The step up to two miles will certainly be in his favour and he seems sure to go well as he tries to complete the four-timer.
16:30 – Indian Creak
INDIAN CREAK ran another sound race at Goodwood on Sunday, filling the runner-up spot for the third start in a row. He was beaten just a neck and the quick turnaround here allows him to take his chance from an unchanged mark. He is threatening to come good soon and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to gain a deserved success under David Probert, whose job has been made easier by a handy draw in stall 2.

17:05 – Saint Riquier
SAINT RIQUIER developed into a fairly useful hurdler for Ian Williams during the winter and he produced his best effort in that sphere when last seen winning a handicap at Warwick five weeks ago. He is back on the Flat today and a BHA mark of 69 could be very lenient for a yard which has excelled with similar types in the past. A maiden winner when trained in France by Mikel Delzangles, he could be a different horse now judged on his subsequent jumping exploits.
