Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today, I want to be a part of it, New York, New York. It’s the Belmont Stakes card and you all know the words. Saturday night’s racing is one of the best racing cards of the year and I’m excited to back some winners.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
17:33 Belmont Park (Acorn Stakes) – Echo Zulu/Matareya Forecast
We have only drew a field of five and it feels like a match race between Echo Zulu and Matareya. Im keeping it simple here Echo Zulu will win this and Matareya will finish second. The fixed odds forecast betting market is how we want to play this.
18:08 Belmont Park (Just A Game Stakes) – Speak Of The Devil
There’s echoes of the Acorn here. We’ve got five runners and it feels a match race between the front two in the market. I favour the Chad Brown-trained runner more than half the field, (I might play a Chad Brown tricast) with the ex-French filly Speak Of The Devil being the one I expect to prevail on top from Regal Glory followed home by In Italian.
19:22 Belmont Park (The Woody Stephens) – Jack Christopher
I fear this is another race where the Chad Brown-trained favourite will win at a short price. Jack Christopher is much the best here. He missed the classics with a training set back but was a really impressive winner of a Grade 2 on the Kentucky Derby undercard. I think he is one to be including in our multiples.

20:05 Belmont Park (The Ogden Phipps) – Malathaat
Cards on the table, I’m a fan of Malathaat, I think she is very very good. While she holds Letruska on bare form from the Breeders Cup distaff that wasn’t a true reflection of Letruska’s running. Letruska is looking like she will be sent off the betting favourite due to her rock solid performances this year. Malathaat was merely winning a Grade 3 last month but I think that race will have brushed the cobwebs off here and allow her to put in a proper 100+ Beyer performance.
21:43 Belmont Park (The Metropolitan Hcap) – Flightline
This is usually a competitive race but the next great star of the sport Flightline has scared off the opposition. He only knows how to win and win by a large distance. Paddy Power will have a few distances Power Prices on offer here to help us enjoy the procession.

23:44 Belmont Park (The Belmont Stakes) – Nest
This is it, I can hear old blue eyes France Sinatra. The Belmont has that traditional Belmont Stakes with no Triple Crown on the line feel to it. We have the Kentucky Derby winner in the field that might not go off betting favourite, the Todd Pletcher-trained Mo Donegal that will go off favourite as it’s deemed to be that type of staying horse and my bet for the race Nest, who was runner up in the Kentucky Oaks. Nest does on speed figures have a few Beyer point to find but she has all the class needed and has the ideal run style for this race and at an each-way price is my bet for the race.
