ITV Saturday gets under way here with a handicap over 1m1f. It’s a tough race to sort out. VEE SIGHT is the interesting one here for me for Ralph Beckett and Silvestre de Sousa. My hope has three runs and is straight into a handicap off a mark of 74. The son Churchill was last seen when fourth behind a Gosden inmate at Newmarket over 7f. This step up in trip will see much improvement. Have a few quid on each-way.
ITV are also at York for this handicap over 1m4f for female amateurs. THRONE HALL is down in the handicap after some poor runs but was second at this track in August last year off 98 and can go off 92 here. That effort was only five runs ago and provided the wheels haven’t completely fallen off he can bounce back to form. He was once rated 102.
Another handicap here but this time over 1m and it’s another tricky race. OUZO must have claims for the Osborne team of trainer Jamie and jockey Saffie. My hope was a fine fourth of 30 behind Real World in last season’s Royal Hunt Cup off a mark of 96 and although up 4lb for a defeat last time is on 94 here. That gives him a good chance even off a huge weight.
This is a handicap over 7f. LION TOWER should run a big one for Grant Tuer and Sam James. My hope stays this trip strong and was a decent second of twenty when last seen at this track behind Eilean Dubh in May. He goes off the same mark here of 90 so really should have each-way claims at the very least.

Listed company now with the Scurry for three-year-old’s over 5f. It’s hard to get away from CATURRA here for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. Rated 110 after a fine second in a Group 3 at Chantilly and far from disgraced behind El Caballo at Haydock last time, the colt will be hard to stop.
A Listed race for older horses over 1m6f. WITHOUT A FIGHT can give the weight away here for Andrea Atzeni and Simon and Ed Crisford. The trip could bring about improvement and he can track Mandoob and pounce late. His second to Hukum in Meydan three runs ago was a fine run as the Coronation Cup showed the other day.

ITV go to Chester for one race Saturday in this handicap over an extended 7f. It’s a tricky contest. OUTGATE was a decent winner at this track for this blog two runs ago and from a good draw can go in again off a mark 5lb higher. He’s since been beaten at Haydock but that was over a mile and he can sit and pounce for the Kublers and Derby hero Richard Kingscote.
A tough handicap over 6f. SHOWTIME MAHOMES has improved massively in his last two runs at this track and is only up 5lb for a really good victory last time. The distance is spot on and in his current form he can go in again.
So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
