The 78-rated Shanghai Dragon is looking exposed at this stage and may not cope with the twice-raced SAREEHA who shaped well on her Irish debut. Three Laws can make her presence felt having picked up experience at Cork.
A tight little contest but MIDNIGHT FIRE comes here in form and being dropped 3lb for his good fourth at the Curragh is a bonus. Shawaamekh and Numoor, who was second past the post to the former at Cork, have chances as does Plunkett who has been a progressive performer this season.
There’s very little between the lot of them on ratings with Pretreville coming out marginally ahead. He had a lacklustre REAL APPEAL (nap) well back when winning over 1m here last time but the latter, 3lb better off and with headgear refitted, can gain revenge this time. Dr Zempf, who didn’t stay 1m at the Curragh, will be more of a force back at this trip.
This looks open but it may be worth forgiving THE PARGEY BEE a below-par run in more demanding conditions at Roscommon. His Gowran third behind the progressive Urban Oasis was promising enough to suggest he may achieve a breakthrough win, perhaps at the main expense of handicap debutants such as Chicago Lightening, Grizabella and Together Aclaim.
The longer trip should not be a problem for INDEPENDENT EXPERT who is just 3lb higher than when gaining a narrow 7f win at the Curragh. She could be tested by Coill Na Sionainne who was runner-up in a handicap of a higher standard last time, and Knocklane Lass whose Dundalk form has confirmed the promise of a Naas second at two.

A recent 1m Gowran handicap may provide the key to this event. Runner-up JAZZ DREAMERS is tipped to confirm form with fourth-placed Plugged In and Alqabeela who finished fifth. Others to consider are Barrys Rock who is closing in on a first win judged on his Fairyhouse second and Heer At Dawn, whose Navan fourth was encouraging.
After making a bright start in handicaps at Gowran, HARRY’S LEGACY is the selection and can be ridden a little bit more positively with fewer concerns about his stamina now. The consistent Derrinlaur, Extensio and recent hurdles winner Auckland are all dangers.
