NAP of the Day: Today’s NAPs Table of horse racing tips across the UK & Ireland

There are seven meetings scheduled across the tracks in the UK and Ireland today – and our nifty NAPs Table is here to give you a steer on the day’s best bets.

Our daily racing NAPs Table is your one-stop shop with all of today’s top tips from the cream of the British and Irish racing press. The tipsters are ranked by their profit or loss to Level Stakes so you know who has been firing in the winners and who, err, hasn’t.

It is the opening day of the Scottish Grand National Meeting at Ayr and the feature, the Class 2 Hillhouse Quarry Handicap Chase (2:50pm), could prove crucial in the race for the British Jump Trainers’ Championship as Dan Skelton fields Heltenham and Jet Plane while Paul Nicholls relies on Outlaw Peter.

The Grade 3 Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Chase (6:50pm) tops the bill at Limerick as Favori De Champdou gives 8lbs to the rest of the field, while Ballinrobe and Footwell also stage National Hunt action.

Metier warms up for the defence of his Chester Cup crown in the Class 2 Compton Beauchamp Estates Ltd Silver Bar Handicap (3:45pm) at Newbury but a deep field includes the likes of Not So Sleepy and Beamish on stable debut for Archie Watson. Elsewhere on the card, Mr Hampstead – a full brother to Group 1-winning filly Savethelastdance – bids to score at the second time of asking in the Darley Novice Stakes (3:12pm).

Meanwhile, Electric Storm is two from two and tackles turf for the first time in the Listed Whitsbury Manor Stud / British EBF Lansdown Stakes (5:45pm) at Bath.
