She ran up to her best when beaten only by a next-time-out winner at Hamilton last time, not having the smoothest of runs and edged out only close home. A similar performance will see her bang in the mix once more. Alpine Sierra is feared most on the back of his Hamilton success with few miles still on the clock.

EXPLICIT put his experience to good use when losing out to a good prospect of Richard Fahey’s at Hamilton last time and looks the one to beat here now having his sights lowered. The sharper track he faces now should be in his favour and he can make every yard of the running in a race lacking depth. Stolen Glory made a winning debut in a claimer at Beverley and is the obvious threat.

A case can be made for all of these, so at the likely odds it is worth siding with CHRYSOS to take a big step forward now he reverts back to seven furlongs. He shaped better than the bare result on handicap debut over a mile at Newmarket last time, failing to settle but still having every chance two furlongs out before weakening. He is 2 lb lower now and he is well up to winning races from this sort of mark. Handicap-debutante Celestial Star is feared most, although Aasser is weighted to have a say if shrugging off his latest Hamilton sixth.

MAKANAH has returned as good as ever this year, denied only narrowly in a big-field York handicap last month where he was beaten only by a well-treated rival. He has plenty of form at this track and he can go one better with a strong pace back at five furlongs likely to suit. There are plenty of dangers, though, with Ancient Times feared most after his winning reappearance, while Indian Sounds finished ahead of the selection here back in October and is better than he could show on his last three starts.

BRIDGETOWN was often strong in the betting last season and it was the same again on his reappearance when he possibly needed the run more than expected. That run will have put an edge on him this relatively lightly-raced four-year-old could be set for a big performance on his second start since undergoing a wind operation. He can see off the challenge of the pair of last-time-out winners Deevious Beau and Sixcor.

CRAGSIDE had shaped well when runner-up on his first two starts of the year and, with his latest run best forgiven, he can get off the mark this time around. He was caught further back than ideal at Catterick last time when it paid to be handy, so he is well worth another chance to confirm his previous promise. Aquamas is respected having already won twice here this season.

BOLLIN NEIL made more of an impact at York last time and he can build on that effort to get back to winning ways. He is now only 1 lb higher than when successful over course and distance in September, so this looks a good opportunity for him to get his head in front again. Tommaso and Taxmeifyoucan have both won over hurdles this year, but they need to be able to transfer that form back on to the Flat.
