It’s often key with this stable to look at entries and Approachability is well entered up at the Royal meeting up in Group 2 company. To stand any chance of taking up that engagement, he needs to be winning this with solid authority. He’s got a very likeable profile and comes from the Johnston yard that do incredibly well at this venue.
There is no reason that Mrs Fitzherbert should be a bigger price than Bashkirova who she beat at Goodwood last time. There was no fluke about it and she has every reason to improve from her current perch of joint top rating on 105. Maybe it’s a fashion thing, but there is nothing wrong with her trainer Hughie Morrison or jockey George Rooke and they can be relied upon to get the job done.
Megallan ran no race whatsoever last time finishing way back in third at Chester in a four-runner race. If we forgive him that run and judge him on his reappearance at headquarters, he would be very tight at the head of the market. Even Paddy has a bad day at the office now and again and so we will give him a pass and hope Frankie Dettori can star again on him.

After a two-month absence King of Stars was given a perfect prep run seven days ago at Haydock showing blistering speed before getting tired late on. This has obviously been the target for his excellent handler Michael Appleby and he’s been given the plum draw in stall 20 too. Live In The Dream is the only three-year-old in the line-up and is worthy of a mention. He is respected in receipt of the weight-for-age allowance.

Godolphin’s runner Walk of Stars is a big brute of an individual who was carrying plenty of condition when defeated in the Lingfield Derby trial last time. He’s peaking at the right time and is one of three representatives for the red-hot Charlie Appleby stable. He handled the track perfectly on his racecourse gallop a week ago, so there are plenty of positives about him at an each-way price in the 2022 Epsom Derby.
Aaddeey made a satisfactory reappearance at Kempton in April when a close-up sixth in the Rosebury Handicap after blowing his winning chance at the start. That usually proves a good guide throughout the season and he signed off last term with a good win at Doncaster on soft ground in a first-time tongue tie, to complement an earlier win over 1m 4f at HQ. He’s versatile ground wise, the tongue-tie is back on and has only raced 10 times so there could be more improvement to come as a five-year-old.
We end the two-days with a 6f sprint where the consistent Regional may get his head in front for trainer Ed Bethall for the first time since Haydock last year. He put his best hoof forward when second in Doha last February and is lightly enough raced and open to improvement as a four-year-old. Kevin Stott keeps the ride after guiding him around Doha and a decent draw in stall three will help the cause as will quick ground.
