13:20 – Platinum Prince
PLATINUM PRINCE has been beaten only narrowly in two starts since winning at Lingfield in January, showing more than enough to suggest he is still on a good mark. He passed the post just half a length behind the winner when finishing third at Bath last time, carrying his head a bit awkwardly under pressure but otherwise doing nothing wrong. This is a weaker race than the one he contested at Bath and he seems sure to go well again.

13:55 – Swahasha
SHAWASHA is one of five newcomers in this maiden and she stands out as potentially the pick of them on pedigree. By Invincible Spirit out of a two-year-old winner over five furlongs, she is certainly bred to be a precocious sort and the fact she cost 150,000 guineas at the breeze-ups in April suggests she should know her job. Clive Cox has already been among the winners with his juveniles in 2022 and Shawasha is very much one to be interested in on her debut.
14:30 – Beggarman
BEGGARMAN resumed winning ways with a comfortable success at Chelmsford last time, only winning by a length but looking value for extra after coming from a long way back in a steadily-run race. He is back on turf today and it goes without saying that he is potentially very well treated from a 6 lb lower mark than when scoring at Chelmsford. In a wide-open contest, he is well worth another chance to prove himself as effective on this surface.
15:00 – Silent Flame
SILENT FLAME ran poorly when finishing down the field at Windsor last time, but her overall profile suggests she is the type to bounce back quickly. She was very consistent in 2021, winning three times and finishing in the first three on four other occasions. It was only in September that she was beaten just half a length from a BHA mark of 76, so it will be a surprise if she isn’t capable of winning races off 72 at some stage this season.

15:30 – Princess Shabnam
PRINCESS SHABNAM showed improved form when losing out by a narrow margin at Chester on Saturday, looking the likeliest winner for a long way (hit a low of 1.15 in-running) before being collared close home. She can race from the same mark here and the booking of Harry Burns, who is decent value for his 5-lb claim, also catches the eye. As long as this doesn’t come too soon, Princess Shabnam has been found a good opportunity to regain the winning thread.
16:00 – Hotspur Harry
HOTSPUR HARRY wasn’t seen to best effect when below form at Windsor last time, tiring late on after doing too much too soon under an aggressive ride. He is better judged on his reappearance at the same course in April, when beaten only three lengths despite meeting a bit of trouble. Andrea Atzeni got a good tune out of him on that occasion and he is back in the saddle today in what is a much weaker race than what Hotspur Harry has been running in lately.

16:35 – Royal Aviation
ROYAL AVIATION looked a useful prospect when winning at Windsor last time, hitting the front over a furlong out and keeping going well from there to win by two and a quarter lengths with plenty in hand. The manner of that victory suggests he was full value for a 9 lb rise in the weights and he is very much the type to go on improving. In what is likely to prove an informative heat, Royal Aviation is fancied to go in again to complete a hat-trick.
