13:20 – Bolt Action

This has the makings of an informative race, especially if market vibes bode well for the expensively-bought 2yos BOLT ACTION and Sipahsalar, while fellow newcomer Deguello is from a yard that’s having a fine run with its youngsters. They’ll need to be above average to beat New Definition, who ran a race full of promise at Doncaster behind one who has gone in again since. The selection is from an excellent family and he might be up to it.

13:55 – Rabaah

In an interesting maiden the eyes are drawn to RABAAH. He is out of a half-sister to his stable’s top-notch sprinter Muhaarar who made a winning debut during the month of May in his first season. He will need to be every bit as good as he looks on paper as Catch The Paddy (second choice), Drafted and Show Respect all made highly promising debuts. Watch out for any confidence behind Presidential Dance, whose connections will have a rough idea as to where they stand with York second Catch The Paddy.

14:30 – Prayer Matt

Diligently Done (second choice) probably has to improve on her breakthrough win but that’s feasible while Rogue Storm is tempting off an untouched mark after signing off last season with a better effort. Bondi Girl won’t be inconvenienced by reverting to sprints on just her second run for Mick Appleby and then there’s PRAYER MATT, who was stuck behind a wall of horses for the most part at Haydock last time but could be seen travelling particularly well in the first-time blinkers.

15:00 – Tucson Cloud

A tight handicap and one that could turn tactical with Carrigillihy not without hope of an uncontested lead. That likely scenario elevates Tim Easterby’s 4yo up the pecking order but it’s probably a formality that the lightly raced TUCSON CLOUD has better days ahead of her. Everything contrived against her at Beverley when third behind two well-bred fillies who have advertised that form with subsequent victories. Dembe, Dual Identity and last year’s winner Croeso Cymraeg all arrive here with their tails up and are not dismissed lightly.

15:30 – Say Grace

Although Bastogne and Letter Of The Law (second choice) should be major players at this level, neither were great on their latest starts and SAY GRACE rates the safer bet. She’s in form and has a good attitude.

16:00 – Quick Change

Golden Spice is a reliable filly in top form and commands the utmost respect, but QUICK CHANGE may be the answer. She was always out wide when a close third on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton and, judged on her debut effort, this return to turf won’t bother her at all. Another Romance will need to prove her latest effort all wrong if she’s to defy top weight.

16:30 – At Libery

With a rise in the weights imminent, AT LIBERTY (nap) is turned out quickly after last week’s improved effort at Ripon. He should be hard to beat with this drop back in distance of no concern. Wootton’sun (second choice) is downgraded from the always-hot London Gold Cup at Newbury, in which he ran well all things considered. Thunder Queen is solid, and it will be interesting to see what the market makes of the now-gelded handicap debutant Tidal Storm.
