13:25 – Miss Brazen

The ones with experience don’t set an exacting standard, so this will likely go to one of the newcomers, with the Karl Burke-trained MISS BRAZEN topping the list. She didn’t cost a fortune, but is speedily bred, and Burke has a good bunch of juveniles at his disposal. The market will likely reveal more, though, and Nashur and Desert Illusion are other likely types on paper.

14:00 – Glorious Angel

GLORIOUS ANGEL has shown similar form in each of her three starts, unable to build on previous promise when a beaten favourite at Haydock last time. That form sets a pretty good standard in this field, though, and this looks a good opportunity for her to open her account provided none of the newcomers are above average. Exposed, who represents a top, in-form stable, makes appeal on paper and it will be interesting to see which way she goes in the market.

14:35 – Mister Camacho

A competitive staying handicap but MISTER CAMACHO arrives having run his best race yet when fourth at Haydock last time. He attracted support that day, and stayed on gradually in the closing stages despite meeting trouble in-running in the closing stages. The further step up in trip will suit on that evidence and he figures on a workable mark now sporting first-time cheekpieces. Satanic Moon and Claritudo also arrive with reasons to recommend them and can feature also.

15:05 – Knightswood

KNIGHTSWOOD made appeal on paper and shaped with promise when finishing third on debut at Kempton in December, showing signs of greenness but also displaying ability. That race is working out well with three next-time-out winners coming out of it, all of whom finished behind him, and he is entitled to improve for that experience now after a break, especially over this longer trip. Bellstreet Bridie and Cotai Star rate next best.

15:35 – Tilly The Filly

TILLY THE FILLY remains a maiden but arrives in good form having finished placed on her last two starts, and was unlucky not to finish a little closer over course and distance two weeks ago. She travelled through the race like a well-handicapped filly but was short of room inside the final furlong which didn’t help her chances. The handicapper has left her on the same mark and she seems sure to go close again. Anniversary Belle and Boudica Bay can give the selection most to think about.

16:05 – Rum Going On

RUM GOING ON showed improved form fitted with first-time cheekpieces to open his account at Musselburgh last month and has remained in form since. He failed to settle upped to a mile back at Musselburgh last time which didn’t allow him to come home as strong as the three which finished in front of him. He is almost certainly still in top form and he should be seen to better effect back at seven furlongs. Les Eyre pair Bearcardi and Hilary’s Boy both arrive in form and should play a part, too.

16:40 – Rocket Rod

ROCKET ROD produced his best effort since his three-year-old days when belatedly opening his account at Newcastle last week, tanking through the contest and showing a nice turn of foot to settle matters inside the final furlong. He beat another well-treated sort convincingly that day and looks well treated turned out under a 5 lb penalty, so has a big chance to follow up returned to turf. Wild Thunder ought to come on for his Thirsk return and is feared most.

17:15 – So Grateful

SO GRATEFUL is a long-standing maiden, but he went agonisingly close when reeled in late in the day at Thirsk earlier this month, only beaten a short head and doing little wrong. He is refitted with a visor now and seems sure to launch another bold bid under Serena Brotherton. Polam Lane, Point of Woods and Brighton scorer Gatwick Kitten head up the dangers in an open-looking handicap.
