I was at Chester when ABSOLUTELYFLAWLESS showed a lot of class and a lot of speed to win that day. The only problem with this filly’s hold-up run style is that it’s maybe not best suited to Beverley. I think she’s good enough to overcome that, and with William Buick riding has to be the one.

14:20 Haydock – Mahrajaan

MAHRAJAAN got beat on the soft at York, but I would rather judge him on his win at Hamilton on decent ground. I think he is fairly handicapped and William Haggas is on fire at the minute.

This is a step down from York, and a really competitive race won in the end by Dakota Gold. There is no hiding place at York and I feel WOBWOBWOB will enjoy this. Not badly drawn in five, I think he has to be of interest in here and is a definite player with Ryan Sexton taking 5lbs off.

This son of Dandy Man has a Racing Post rating of 101 after his run at Ascot. WHISTLE AND FLUTE has to be sharp out the gate, and looks like he’s ticking the right boxes here at Beverley, as long as he gets a good start.

Rogue Spirit is the interesting one in this contest. This son of Dark Angel has been gelded since his last win at the track – where he showed a lot of speed – and if the gelding operation focuses his mind, he’s a big danger.

15:45 Chester – Fools Rush In

FOOLS RUSH IN is already a winner at Chester, that’s always a good start. This son of Mehmas ran well last time but has a reasonable draw in five – when he won in August he was drawn in four. Local man Hugo Palmer is in charge, and he gets the nod.
