Queen Of Deauville, whose stable won this race in 2019, was impressive over C&D on her debut and should go well again but CARMELA might have been placed in Listed company last time with more luck in running and is marginally preferred. Both newcomers make some appeal on pedigree and the market should be monitored for clues.

14:20 – Canaria Prince

The starting point here is Colombe, who has not looked back since wind surgery and bids for a hat-trick, but slight preference is for CANARIA PRINCE, another with low mileage and whose reappearance suggested he’ll be winning races soon. If Sir Gregory is as effective on turf as AW he’ll be a major factor as well. Sharrabang is hard to fancy on recent form but was the outsider of the field when winning this race 12 months ago.

14:55 – Ey Up Its Maggie

The suggestion is EY UP IT’S MAGGIE who has progressed since winning this race off a 10lb lower mark 12 months ago and gave the impression she was ready to strike at York last week. Ventura Flame is respected under a penalty for her convincing C&D success 11 days ago but today’s conditions may be less suitable and a bigger danger could be Elegant Erin who improved for the drop to 5f last time and is the type to thrive for Paul Midgley. Havagomecca and Lazyitis complete the shortlist.

Judged on breeding there should be improvement to come from SUMMER SECRETS, who looks interesting off an opening mark of just 55. Liv Lucky (second choice) and Clodovea both ran respectably here 11 days ago and enter calculations returned to sprinting, while Stanley Snugfit completes the shortlist.
