WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:50 – Quanah

The C&D handicap 12 days ago is a key piece of form. QUANAH scored in clearcut style that day and may follow up, with Connor Planas’ claim helping to offset a rise in the weights. Louis Treize and The Gloaming (second choice) may again be the main dangers, although Tantastic is in excellent form and commands respect too.

14:20 – Rock Opera

Explicit (second choice) and Montelusa have solid claims on form but ROCK OPERA shaped with a fair amount of promise on his Beverley debut and could improve past them both. More was expected of Unitarian on his C&D debut and it would be no surprise were he to leave that form well behind him with the experience under his belt.

14:50 – Inver Park (NAP)

George Boughey is 1-1 with his runners at Hamilton and recent Windsor scorer INVER PARK (nap) can maintain the 100% record by following up. Another last-time-out winner, Nearly A Gonna is an obvious danger, penalised just 5lb for a 4l success, while Glorious Rio showed his wellbeing with a third in a big field over C&D last time and should be thereabouts again.

15:20 – Where’s Jeff

The New Marwan was runner-up at Musselburgh and can go well again but top of the list is WHERE’S JEFF who usually goes well here and whose rider can claim a handy 7lb.

15:50 – Alpine Sierra

With no confirmed front-runner in the field, this could become tactical. The pick on recent form is ALPINE SIERRA, and if he repeats his good third at Musselburgh on Saturday he’ll go close. We Still Believe offered more last time and is second choice, ahead of Engles Rock, for whom William Buick is an interesting booking, and the well-handicapped but frustrating Carter Cowboy.

16:25 – Shine On Brendan

Not many of these have solid claims on recent form and SHINE ON BRENDAN may be able to follow up his recent course success. Saulire Star, third behind the selection last time, should be thereabouts but a bigger danger could be Star Of St James who shaped better than the bare result in a big field at Wetherby three weeks ago.

16:55 – Fergie Time

Bottom-weight Simply Sondheim hasn’t achieved much on his three outings to date but he’s from a powerful yard and quite well bred so if a gelding operation has a positive effect he’ll be of major interest on his handicap debut. One who has already improved for being gelded is FERGIE TIME and Keith Dalgleish’s son of Tamayuz is taken to follow up his last-gasp Musselburgh win. Prince Achille is third choice ahead of Sophiesticate.
