13:40 – Stanley Snugfit
STANLEY SNUGFIT shaped better than the bare result when fourth at Thirsk last time, doing well to be beaten less than three lengths after racing closer to the strong gallop than ideal. He won in decisive fashion on his previous start at Redcar, showing improved form to land the spoils by around four lengths. He is clearly thriving for his new stable and there is no reason why he shouldn’t remain competitive from a BHA mark of 55.

14:10 – Jet Set Go
JET SET GO is still a maiden after 13 starts, but she has plenty of form in the book to suggest she is up to winning races from a BHA mark of 53. After all, she was beaten just a head on last season’s reappearance at Nottingham and that run came off 61. This 0-55 handicap is the weakest race she has contested in her career up to this point and her first outing of the season is probably the best time to catch her.
14:40 – Stolen Glory
STOLEN GLORY is one of three newcomers in this claimer and she is certainly bred to be a precocious sort. She is by Cotai Glory and her dam is a half-sister to Donnerschlag, who showed smart form at up to seven furlongs in Germany. This looks a very weak race in which to start her career and it will be interesting to see whether the market gives her the vote of confidence for a shrewd yard.
15:10 – Saisons D’or
SAISONS D’OR had plausible excuses when finishing only fifth at Doncaster last time, possibly finding the run coming too soon just six days after a big effort at Musselburgh. He was beaten a little over a length on the first occasion and it’s worth pointing out that he is still on the same mark. Given a five-week break since his Doncaster flop, he is well worth another chance to resume winning ways in a race where plenty of his rivals have questions to answer.

15:40 – Diamond Ranger
DIAMOND RANGER looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Catterick earlier this month, hitting the front early in the straight and always doing enough from there to get the verdict by a length and a half in comfortable fashion. That was a fairly useful performance and there should be lots more to come from him as he gains in experience. In what is likely to prove an informative novice, he is fancied to defy a penalty to maintain his unbeaten record.
16:15 -Bavardages
BAVARDAGES ran a huge race when successful over this course and distance three weeks ago, only winning by a neck but looking value for extra after being caught further back than ideal. He is only 2 lb higher in the weights today and it was as recently as March that he defied a higher mark still on the all-weather at Southwell. He should be able to match that form on turf and is very much one to be interested in.

16:48 – Mr Zee
MR ZEE ran well after seven months off when third at Leicester last time, travelling strongly at the head of affairs before his effort petered out in the final furlong. He was still beaten just a length and it will be no surprise if he comes forward again with the run under his belt. A BHA mark of 57 is unlikely to prove beyond him judged on the balance of his form and this front-runner seems sure to go well here from a handy draw in stall 1.
17:20 – Otto Oyl
OTTO OYL showed improved form to open his account on turf at Ayr last week, forging clear in the final furlong to win by over three lengths with plenty in hand. This will be a quicker-than-ideal turnaround, but it goes without saying that he is potentially very well treated if arriving in the same sort of form. After all, he escapes a penalty for that win and it’s not out of the question that he may yet have more to offer given his career trajectory.
