13:15 – Sisterandbrother

SISTERANDBROTHER bounced back to his best on his first outing for Milton Harris when opening his account over a mile and a quarter at this track earlier this month, showing plenty of resolution to regain the lead close home after being headed by the reopposing Blue Hero inside the final furlong. The step back up in trip should suit well and he may have more to offer now sporting a first-time hood. Bobby Kennedy should also have a part to play if ready to roll on his reappearance.

13:50 – Spangled Mac

This doesn’t look a strong race of its type and SPANGLED MAC may be up to making a winning debut for a yard who know how to ready one. He cost 140,000 guineas as a yearling but was picked up for much less by these connections and there is lots to like about him on paper. The market will reveal more, but he may have too much for Brazen Diamond, who is expected to improve on his debut effort.

14:20 – Vape

VAPE has regained some form since joining John Flint, taking advantage of a reduced mark at Windsor last month, and running to a similar level to be placed on his last two starts. He drops back to the minimum trip now, but he has been showing plenty of speed, and is only 1 lb higher than when finishing a good third at Nottingham last time. Janaat wasn’t seen to best effect on her return when fourth at Wolverhampton and needs considering on her turf debut.

14:50 – Chairman

Some progressive types on show here but CHAIRMAN looks the one to beat on his handicap debut. He bumped into some nice types on his first two starts, and improved further when opening his account at Salisbury last time while still showing signs of inexperience under pressure. The drop back in trip shouldn’t pose a problem and he can prove himself well treated. Silverscape won nicely on the all-weather when last seen in January and can give Martyn Meade’s charge most to think about.

    15:20 – Dal Mallart

This looks quite competitive, but DAL MALLART is arguably open to the most improvement, and looks the one to side with. She failed to improve as expected upped in trip on handicap debut at Nottingham earlier this month, but wasn’t seen to best effect, still showing signs of inexperience and short of room in the final furlong. She will likely stay further in time, but is well worth another chance to prove herself on a good mark. Girl Inthe Picture has been in fine form here lately and rates an obvious danger.

    15:50 – Platinum Prince

PLATINUM PRINCE isn’t the most straightforward, and both of his wins have come on the all-weather, but he did go close on turf at Epsom last summer, so looks interesting now back on grass from a lower mark. This isn’t as competitive as the numbers suggest and he may be worth chancing. Magical Dragon won’t need to have come on much for his reappearance to go close, either.

    16:20 – Charlie’s Yard

CHARLIE’S YARD showed improved form on his debut for David Evans to open his account at Kempton earlier this month, relishing the step up in trip and seeming to react well to first-time cheekpieces. He has started out for this yard from a basement mark and a subsequent 5 lb rise in the weights seems fair enough, so another bold bid is expected now back on turf. Master Grey and Eagles Dare rate the principal dangers.

    16:55 – Harry The Norseman

HARRY THE NORSEMAN shaped encouragingly on his first outing for a new yard when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Southwell last month, sticking to his task well after forcing the pace and, with this longer trip likely to be within range, he’s selected to go one place better now. Owen Little and It’s How We Roll head the opposition.
