13:40 – Olivia Maralda

A big field of mostly newcomers, so this promises to be an informative maiden, and preference is for expensive breeze-up purchase OLIVIA MARALDA. She cost 460,000 guineas earlier this year and is bred to be sharp, a half-sister to smart Society Power who won twice as a juvenile, and she represents a yard that know how to get on ready on debut. Tanaiyla, who finished runner-up to a nice type on debut, is sure to know more this time, and looks the main danger.

14:10 – Pirate Jenny

This looks a very competitive fillies’ handicap and slight preference is for PIRATE JENNY, who built on the promise of her debut when comfortably opening her account at Cork last time. She was professional in the race itself, quickening to lead over a furlong out and having a bit in hand at the line. An opening mark of 88 is workable and there should be plenty more to come from her. Count To Five is another maiden winner who should have more to come in handicaps and she heads the many dangers.

14:40 – State Of Rest

STATE OF REST has been a real money spinner for connections in the last 10 months or so, a notable victory coming in the Cox Plate in Australia, and he confirmed his well being when landing a third top-level success in a row in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp earlier this month. He proved better than ever on that occasion and it would be no surprise were he to stretch his winning run to four now. British-trained pair Lord North and Alenquer, whose stable has been near unstoppable in recent weeks, can give the selection most to think about.

15:10 – Twighlight Spinner

TWILIGHT SPINNER is on the up, producing a career-best effort when winning the Athasi Stakes over seven furlongs at this course earlier this month, relishing the step up in trip and leaving the impression she will have no problem staying a mile. She remains relatively lightly raced for her age and she gets the vote ahead of Pearls Galore, who won a listed event on her return at Leopardstown and will be a threat back in pattern company.

15:45 – Homeless Songs

HOMELESS SONGS is bred to excel over middle distances, but she displayed a smart turn of foot when winning a trial for this over seven furlongs at Leopardstown last month, and promises to relish this step up to a mile for the first time. She is one of the standard setters on form and may have too much speed for 1000 Guineas third Tuesday, who surely has more to offer for top connections. Purplepay would have gone close with a better run in the Criterium and is an interesting contender starting out for the red-hot William Haggas.

16:20 – Shelly Banks

SHELLY BANKS took her form to a whole new level with the tongue strap back on when winning a useful handicap at Tipperary last month. She was well drawn the way things panned out that day, but she stayed on well to win well over five furlongs, and promises to be well suited by a return to six furlongs now. She is 7 lb higher, but will be suited by conditions, and another big run is on the cards. Fellow last-time-out winners Rough Diamond and Midnight Fire also make plenty of appeal in a wide-open sprint.

16:50 – Juncture

JUNCTURE bolted up in a listed event on the all-weather at Dundalk in March but was out of her depth in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last time. On her effort the time before, an opening mark of 98 is workable now entering handicaps, and it would be no surprise were she to regain her progression back in calmer waters. Dark Vega and Georgeta both remain with potential, too, and head the dangers.

17:20 – Ark

This looks a maiden that is sure to throw up plenty of future winners, and Aidan O’Brien seemingly holds the key, with ARK looking the pick of his four runners. She was only picked up by a couple of closers at Leopardstown last time having been sent for home some way out and is well up to winning a race of this nature. Selador, Engagement Ring and Eyaziya are just a trio of others to consider.
