OO DE LALLY shaped well after seven months off (gelded and had wind surgery in the interim) when fifth at Goodwood last time, passing the post around two lengths behind the winner after tiring late on. He is entitled to strip fitter with that run under his belt and a BHA mark of 103 still looks fair judged on the balance of his form. Harry Davies, who is good value for his 7-lb claim, also takes over in the saddle today, all of which gives Oo de Lally strong claims.

14:20 Sunset And Vine
SUNSET AND VINE stepped up on his previous efforts when third in a maiden at Goodwood three weeks ago, showing fairly useful form to be beaten less than a length. Admittedly, he didn’t look entirely straightforward under pressure (flashed his tail in the final furlong), but the application of a first-time visor today will hopefully help him to put his best foot forward. A BHA mark of 78 is unlikely to prove beyond him and this looks a good starting point to life in handicaps.
14:55 Alligator Alley
ALLIGATOR ALLEY again offered plenty of encouragement when fourth over this course and distance last week, sticking to his task well to pass the post only three and a half lengths behind the winner. He is 1-lb lower in the weights today and it will be no surprise if he comes forward again on just his third start for the David O’Meara yard. A smart sprinter in his prime when trained by Joseph O’Brien, he clearly retains plenty of ability and is one to keep on the right side.
15:30 Silence Please
SILENCE PLEASE wasn’t seen to best effect when making her reappearance in a listed contest at Goodwood three weeks ago, doing well to finish as close as she did (beaten three lengths) after being badly hampered inside the final two furlongs. That was also her first outing for the Andrew Balding yard (formerly trained in Ireland by Jessica Harrington) and she certainly showed enough to suggest there are races to be won with her this season. Granted a bit more luck than she enjoyed at Goodwood, then this looks an ideal opportunity for her to get off the mark in Britain.
16:07 Bradsell
BRADSELL is one of six newcomers in the line-up for this novice and he stands out as one of the likelier types on pedigree. He is by Tasleet, who has enjoyed some early success with his first crop of runners, and his dam was also a two-year-old winner at up to seven furlongs. Bought for £47,000 at the breeze-ups last month, Bradsell should know his job and a big run seems assured on his debut for Archie Watson, who has already been among the winners with his juveniles in 2022.
16:42 Golden Voice
GOLDEN VOICE showed useful form when getting off the mark on his return at Newcastle last month, looking much more like the finish article after a gelding operation and wind surgery during the winter. He dictated just an ordinary gallop and the result was never in any doubt once he kicked on over two furlongs out, ultimately winning by three lengths in totally dominant fashion. He is very much the type to go on improving and a BHA mark of 79 could prove lenient on his handicap debut for William Haggas, who his team in red-hot form with 16 winners in the last 14 days.
17:15 Tamaska
TAMASKA has won his last two starts in good style, first winning at Wetherby at the beginning of this month and then defying a 3-lb higher mark to follow up at Yarmouth on Wednesday. He looked full value for a career-best effort on the last occasion, quickening clear in the final furlong to land the spoils by nearly four lengths. This will be a quicker-than-ideal turnaround, but it goes without saying that he is potentially well treated under a 5-lb penalty if arriving in the same sort of form.
