Newbury maiden winner My Prospero may give him most to think about, ahead of wide-margin Yarmouth scorer Akhu Najla.

FRANCESCO CLEMENTE had next-time-out winners in second and third when taking a 1m newcomers event at the Craven meeting and there should be plenty more to come from him, particularly at this trip, so he’s narrowly preferred to Subastar, whose own Newmarket debut success looks solid and who went off 13-8 favourite for a Listed race on his return, suggesting he’s held in high regard at Varian Stable.

Richard Spencer’s PROFESSIONAL WIDOW is nicely handicapped and gets the nod to build on a solid reappearance run at Nottingham last time. There are slight doubts as to whether Sharla is as good on turf as AW, so it could be that the chief threat comes from recent Windsor runner-up New Heights.
