17:30 Two Tempting
Subjective Value (second choice) is a consistent performer and he should go well but there are less-exposed opponents for him to deal with. Fiorina and Wendell’s Lad are Newmarket raiders with untapped potential but TWO TEMPTING has left the impression he has a bigger run in him and he gets the nod.

18:00 Bearaway
Dembe still appeals as being well handicapped and should make a bold bid to defy his wide stall, while Uzincso, Lafan and Rogue Force all reserve their best for this track. First View is risky but it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see him run well, while Encouraged (second choice) is another to take seriously. BEARAWAY ran very well on his return to action at Southwell last month, though, and he can take full advantage of what looks a good opening mark.
18:30 Spells At Dawn
The standard set here isn’t a daunting one so money for one of Emperor Of War, Perfect Charmer, Riley’s Positano or Fawn At Play would be interesting. Tickets sets the standard and should go well but both Prophet’s Dream and SPELLS AT DAWN have shown promise and the latter may prove the answer. He made some good late ground over C&D last month (when settling much better in his first-time hood) and should be capable of better still.
19:00 Mont Champs
Michael Bell’s MONT CHAMPS bumped into a good one here two weeks ago and she has every chance of going one better. Land Of Summer is the obvious threat despite having to carry a penalty and Poppy Field may also go well, as she appeared to perform well beneath expectations at Bath.
19:30 Thunderclap
Unpenalised for a recent turf win and with Harry Davies taking 7lb off his back, Heart Of Soul’s claims are there for all to see. This is a stronger race, however, and there are interesting opponents. Dubai Horizon could bounce back in this lower grade, while Jasmine Joy and Spring Glow both have something to recommend them. THUNDERCLAP was a big improver last season, though, and he may be able to take another step forward now upped to this trip for the first time.

20:00 Ivasecret (NAP)
Biggles would be an easy choice if you had to own one for the year, and he may still be up to taking this on his return, but IVASECRET (nap) will be a tough nut to crack having quickly put a Lingfield contest to bed on his comeback. Billy Mill is third choice.
20:30 Ilhabela Fact
It’s not hard to imagine there may yet be more to come from Placated after just the two attempts (and successive personal best RPRs) at this trip so far. In ILHABELA FACT, however, he faces a rival still on a very workable mark despite recent re-raises and with six course wins in the locker – three over C&D, and four from draws the same as or worse than tonight’s. The return of Ben Curtis, up for his two most recent scores, just adds to the appeal.
