13:00 – Big Time Maybe
BIG TIME MAYBE performed consistently without winning on the all-weather earlier this year, producing his best effort when beaten just a nose at Lingfield in January. He is now 3 lb lower in the weights than he was then and the return to Brighton will also be in his favour. After all, his last three wins have all come over this course and distance, two of which came as recently as last summer.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:30 – Lifes A Beach
LIFE’S A BEACH very much caught the eye when fifth on his reappearance at Bath six days ago, passing the post just a length and a quarter behind the winner and looking unlucky not to finish closer still after meeting plenty of trouble in the straight. He arguably would have won with a clear run and there was certainly enough in that effort to suggest he is up to winning races from a BHA mark of 61. With further progress also likely, he rates a confident selection to get off the mark.
14:00 – Bounty Pursuit
BOUNTY PURSUIT bounced back to form from out of the blue when winning over this course and distance three weeks ago, staying on well to win by two and a half lengths in decisive fashion. The manner of that victory suggests a 6 lb rise in the weights won’t prove beyond him and it’s well worth pointing out that he was rated higher still in his prime. Indeed, he lines up here from a BHA mark of 59 having won off 70 a couple of times earlier in his career.
14:30 – Victorious Night
VICTORIOUS NIGHT again ran creditably when filling the runner-up spot at Salisbury last time, racing closer to the strong gallop than ideal and sticking to his task well under the circumstances to be beaten just a length and a half. He can line up from the same mark here after just five days off and another bold bid seems assured provided he doesn’t do too much too soon this time.

15:00 – Sabyinyo
SABYINYO has shown a fair level of form in two starts to date, finding one too good on his debut at Bath in April and then finishing fourth at Chelmsford 12 days ago. He arguably wasn’t seen to best effect on the last occasion, inevitably tiring late on after setting a fierce pace. Still beaten just a length and a quarter, he clearly has the ability to win races and today could be the day for him to open his account in what looks a very weak novice.
15:30 – Rivas Rob Roy
RIVAS ROB ROY returned to form with a narrow defeat over this course and distance last time, looking the likeliest winner for a long way (hit a low of 1.23 in-running) before being collared in the final strides. This will be tougher now back up to a BHA mark of 55, but it was only this time last year that he was successful off 59 at this course. He clearly relishes the test provided by Brighton and his connections are entitled to be hopeful of another big run.

16:00 – Junoesque
JUNOESQUE is another regular at Brighton and she recorded her seventh victory at the track when last in action three weeks ago, responding well to pressure to get the verdict by half a length. She rarely runs a bad race here and there is no reason why she shouldn’t be competitive again from just a 3 lb higher mark than last time.
