13:35 Newbury – CADAMOSTO

It’s a small field but a puzzling contest. I can see Ehraz turning the Ascot form with Hierarchy. Tiber Flow came home well at Newcastle but his two wins came over 7f and he looked like going back up to that trip might suit him. I’m not CADAMOSTO’s biggest fan but I thought he ran alright behind New York City at Navan last month.

13:50 Newmarket – ZAIN SARINDA

Ottoman Fleet’s form is only OK, Groundbreaker looks a difficult enough horse and Post Impressionist won on his second start as he liked, but the one I like is ZAIN SARINDA. He didn’t handle Epsom last time behind Nahanni with United Nations behind in fourth. My pick had to come around the field and was always hanging down the camber. He could be the improver.

14:10 Newbury – FOXES TALES

I’m hoping the step up to 1m 4f will help FOXES TALES. He was good and tough last year. This could be a prep run for Scope for the Ascot Gold Cup and Eshaada is coming off a 210-day lay-off. Foxes Tales comes here having run last month and over this trip, fitness could be key.

14:25 Newmarket – HARRY THREE

I’m drawn to HARRY THREE for the fact that Adam Kirby is back on board. He was in the saddle when winning twice at Kempton last year. Harry Three ran well behind Ingra Tor at the end of April and looks like he’s improving.

14:45 Newbury – SURREY MIST

I’m torn between Surrey Mist and Red Vineyard. I’m going to come down on the side of SURREY MIST, who was very green first time out at Sandown over 7f before stepping up over 10f and 11f to win twice since. He absolutely bolted in at Kempton last time out when beating Cliffs Of Fury with more than 5lbs up his sleeve.

15:00 Newmarket – QUINTILLUS

I’m with QUINTILLUS. He ran a cracking race in the Britannia last year at the Royal meeting when he was third behind Perotto from the stand side. He then went to Newmarket and beat Maxi Boy over 7f. He’s only had the one run since at Meydan and ran moderately in a Listed race. He’s back on the turf and I’m hoping there’s still a bit of improvement.

15:20 Newbury – REAL WORLD

Baaeed will win but I’m looking for the one that could beat him if he doesn’t turn up, and for me that is REAL WORLD. For a relatively lightly-raced horse on the turf he looks to be improving. If you leave out his two dirt runs earlier this year, he’s coming here with a string of 1’s behind his name. He could be the one, if Baaeed doesn’t bring his ‘A’ game.
