A bumper day of racing coming from Newbury and Newmarket on ITV where the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes is the feature race of the day at Newbury.

13:35 Newbury – Hierarchy

Hugo Palmer has hit the ground running in his new base at Michael Owen’s Manor House stables in Cheshire. HIERARCHY, son of Mehmas, ran a blinder at Ascot getting a little out-paced before running on strongly to finish second to Go Bears Go. Hierarchy ran really well at this track last season, finishing second in the Mill  Reef Stakes last season. He was a little keen that day but looked like he’s grown up since.

13:50 Newmarket – Ottoman Fleet

Charlie Appleby and Godolphin have had a fantastic start to the season and this son of Sea the Stars, OTTOMAN FLEET, went down all guns blazing to Natural World at Newbury on his first start last month. Natural World ran a really good race in the Derby Trial at Lingfield and this looks a perfect opportunity for Ottoman Fleet to get his head in front.

14:10 Newbury – Foxes Tales

The Group 3 Al Rayyan Stakes could go to the horse that is best suited to the conditions of the race. The top-weight Scope is penalised for a Group 1 success at Longchamp last October and having his first run of the season may put him at a disadvantage. FOXES TALES has had a good run at Sandown on his seasonal debut, is unpenalised and has top form behind Solid Stone at the track last year. He can score here.

14:45 Newbury – Surrey Mist

The race that SURREY MIST won at Kempton has worked out really well. The third and fifth have won since and the placed horses have gone close in other races.  Surrey Mist may be  underestimated in the market as he’s not from a powerhouse Newmarket stable but George Baker is a good trainer. I’m taking Surrey Mist to win.

15:20 Newbury – Baaeed

Every multiple bet needs an anchor leg and that’s why I’m putting in the odds-on favourite, BAAEED. This son of Sea the Stars has super impressive form figures with six wins from six starts. Ground conditions are not a problem so even with a little bit of rain around, we don’t need to be concerned.
