13:50 – Zain Sarinda

ZAIN SARINDA shaped with encouragement when fourth on debut at Kempton last year and he built on that promise to get off the mark at Wolverhampton in January, showing a good attitude to assert. Zain Sarinda looked a smart prospect when easily following up at the same course in March, scoring by four and a half lengths, and he took another step forward when upped in class at Epsom last time, finishing a close-up third in the Blue Riband Trial. He probably would have won that Listed contest had he not hung left down the camber and he remains capable of better.

14:25 – Haymaker

HAYMAKER failed to meet expectations when well backed on his handicap debut at Ascot last season but he justified support on his return here a couple of weeks ago, landing a seven-furlong handicap. Haymaker raced with plenty of enthusiasm on that occasion and the speed he showed suggests he should have no problem dropping back to six furlongs here. He might still have more to offer and has the assistance of Harry Davies, a rider who is excellent value for his 7 lb claim, in the saddle.

15:00 – Wizard D’Amour

WIZARD D’AMOUR is a consistent sort and he followed up an authoritative win at Catterick with a good effort in defeat over this course and distance last time, finishing runner-up behind Shine So Bright. He meets that rival on 2 lb better terms here, while he is also more consistent than Shine So Bright, so it is worth siding with him to reverse the form.

15:35 – Fairy Cross

There are plenty of well-bred fillies among this field of newcomers, including FAIRY CROSS. Fairy Cross is by Dubawi and out of Devonshire, a smart Group 2 winner, and she makes her debut with trainer Charlie Appleby in excellent form. Appleby won with his first two-year-old runner this season – Noble Style at Ascot – and the trainer was only narrowly denied at Newbury on Friday with Mysterious Night.

16:10 – Pawapuri

PAWAPURI has an excellent pedigree – she is by Golden Horn and out of a sister to 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand – and she impressed Timeform’s reporter in the paddock before her debut at Newbury last month. Pawapuri offered something to work with in mid-division and she took a small step forward when fourth here last time, shaping like a stiffer test of stamina would have suited. She steps up a couple of furlongs in trip here and can raise her game enough to get off the mark.

16:45 – Dancing To Win

DANCING TO WIN finished last season out of form for Hugo Palmer but she starts out for Jane Chapple-Hyam on a good mark based on the level she ran to when a wide-margin winner of a novice at Lingfield. Dancing To Win has other pieces of form that suggest she’s on a good mark if the switch to this yard and the break has sparked a resurgence.

17:20 – Rebel At Dawn

REBEL AT DAWN was a creditable fourth at Doncaster last time, doing well considering he stumbled and ducked left at the start, and he has been given a chance by the handicapper who has eased him 2 lb. Rebel At Dawn is now 3 lb lower than his last winning mark and trainer Karl Burke has his team in good order, so a bold bid is on the cards.
