13:50 York – Dark Jedi

ITV are back on Wednesday starting with this handicap over 1m4f. Gaasee might be chucked in, but I’ll have a few quid eachway on DARK JEDI for Tim Easterby and Duran Fentiman. I tipped him at this track last year in a similar type of event in August and he ran a fine third at 11-1 off a mark of 95. He’s up 2lb here but I’ll take a chance he has a good gallop to run at which he needs as he stays strong and slips into the frame at least.

14:05 Newton Abbot – Get Back Get Back

ITV are also at Newton Abbot jumping Wednesday with this handicap hurdle over an extended 2m2f. Obviously the best looking horse here is Chapmanshype, but looks aren’t everything. I’ll take a chance with GET BACK GET BACK for Harry Fry and Kevin Brogan. My selection has been consistent without winning of late but his second at Aintree last June reads well in this company. He was off 124 then and is now on 122 so the mark is workable.

14:25 York – Mr Wagyu

Another handicap here this time over 6f. MR WAGYU is still quite high in the handicap but might be better drawn than leading fancies Bergerac and Woven who are both stuck high. Trained by John Quinn and ridden by Jason Hart, Mr Wagyu has a third in the Ayr Gold Cup to his name and ended last season with a good sixth at this track. He was 40-1 on return at Newmarket but was far from disgraced behind Blackrod in eighth and should have come on a bundle for that. An eachway chance.

15:00 York – Minzaal

A Group 2 here in the Duke of York over 6f. The return of the talented Dragon Symbol with new trainer Roger Varian. The bet for me has to be MINZAAL, who was last seen finishing third behind Creative Force and Glen Shiel in the Group 1 British Champions Sprint at Ascot. He’s very lightly raced and should have more improvement and as long as a few showers hits the course has a great chance for Owen Burrows and Jim Crowley.

15:35 York – Life Of Dreams

Now the Oaks trial in the Group 3 Musidora over an extended 1m2f. Emily Upjohn was awesome at Sandown but equally so was LIFE OF DREAMS on debut for Godolphin, Charlie Appleby and William Buick. The daughter of Dubawi made her racecourse debut at Newbury on April 22 and hacked up by nearly four lengths in a decent field. The second and third have done nothing for the form but she looked decent and is bred to be very good out of a Sea the Stars mare.

16:10 York – Samburu

Finally a handicap over 7f. SAMBURU could easily be a class above this lot. Trained by the Gosden and ridden by Frankie Dettori, the son of Kingman has scored at both Yarmouth and Salisbury, keeping on well last time over this trip to see off a horse who went on to run all right at Ascot. A mark of 88 might well be lenient.

Wednesday ITV racing tips:

14:05 – GET BACK GET BACK
14:25 – MR WAGYU
15:00 – MINZAAL
15:35 – LIFE OF DREAMS
16:10 – SAMBURU
