14:10 – Professor Pesca
The ones with experience don’t set an exacting standard so it may be worth chancing likely-looking newcomer PROFESSOR PESCA, who is bred to be sharp with two-year-old winners in her pedigree and represents a yard that do well with their juveniles. Strength in the betting would be a positive. Ramazan cost €130,000 as a yearling and is certain to derive plenty from his considerate introduction.

14:40 – Pure Charmer
PURE CHARMER remains a maiden and has only run to a modest level, but this isn’t a strong race, and speed appears to be her main asset. This track should suit with that in mind and she left the impression that she would come on for the run on her return from a break at Brighton last time. Furthermore, she has crack apprentice Benoit de la Sayette taking a very valuable 7 lb off, so a big run is expected. Vaunted is the obvious danger if returning for a new yard anywhere near her peak form.
15:10 – Son And Sannie
SON AND SANNIE was gambled on and bounced right back to form when resuming winning ways at Windsor last week, awkward leaving the stalls but staying on strongly in the closing stages to win with something up his sleeve. The conditions of that race mean he is able to race from the same mark now and has an excellent claimer taking 7 lb off. Excellent chance of following up. High Security is feared most unless there’s market support for Dandy Spirit, who drops in class on return for a new yard.
15:40 – Elixsoft
This looks a good bit of placing by the connections of ELIXSOFT, who is able to race from the same mark as when successful at Nottingham on Saturday. That came under this rider, who is able to claim his 7 lb allowance now, and a similar performance will see him hard to beat. Hardy and Rocket Dancer are another pair that arrive in good form and are expected to give the selection most to think about.

16:10 – Gibside
GIBSIDE pulled eight lengths clear of the rest when bumping into a big improver over this course and distance last week and he looks ahead of the handicapper racing from an unchanged mark. This looks a slightly deeper race but he should be up to opening his account now. The Predictor and Flyde Coast are a couple who remain open to improvement for Richard Fahey so shouldn’t be underestimated, either.
16:45 – Appier
APPIER was a completely different proposition switched to handicaps when an easy winner here last week and he looks a fair way ahead of the assessor under a penalty with this trip likely to suit. A prominent showing from Gibside in the previous race on the card would strengthen his claims further and he should prove hard to beat for an in-form yard. Amzaan represents a yard in excellent order and is second choice.

17:20 – Tamarama
Some potential improvers on show here, but TAMARAMA sets a good standard and should prove too strong. She gave a totally unexposed sort a big scare at Ripon 17 days ago and probably won’t need to improve a great deal on that performance over this shorter trip to get the job done. Qoya and Cookies And Creme may give her most to think about.
