13:40 – Little Big Bear
Aidan O’Brien won this last year and may do so again with LITTLE BIG BEAR who was only narrowly denied on debut and the yard’s runners often improve plenty for their initial experience. Alexis Zorba is the obvious danger with the form of his debut second boosted since.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
14:15 – Conversant
Expect Teddy Boy to be involved once again and Harry’s Hill is closely matched with that runner on form. CONVERSANT might be worth risking after a pleasing reappearance at the Curragh and a return to more testing conditions may help him get his head back in front.
14:50 – Shartash
It’s hard to oppose SHARTASH who chased home two smart sorts on debut and is entitled to build on that here. The expensively bought Age Of Kings is a fascinating newcomer that warrants respect and Nituna should build on her recent debut at this venue.
15:25 – Tosen Lydia
None of Joseph O’Brien’s quartet can be ruled out but Shane Crosse sticks with the promising TOSEN LYDIA (nap) ahead of Tranquil Lady and that looks significant. Eclat De Lumiere and Lily Pond are well-bred maiden winners who could easily make the step up to this level as well.

16:00 – Shark Bay
They meet on handicap terms but the imports Inuit and Qitaal would have been tricky to assess. They could easily play a part but, with a Cork maiden win under his belt, perhaps SHARK BAY can come out on top even if this trip looks a bare minimum for him. The stiffer track will help in that regard and he’ll be sharper for that comeback run.
16:35 – Ezine
Almost a dozen newcomers in the line-up but none of them have any big-race entries and EZINE sets a very good standard by virtue of her debut second to 1,000 Guineas third Tuesday. It’s hard to oppose Dermot Weld’s filly. Toriangel reappeared with an encouraging run at Leopardstown and may be next best.
17:05 – Mickey The Steel
Last year’s winner, Half Nutz warrants respect again back at his favourite venue with first-time headgear on but it might be worth taking a chance on MICKEY THE STEEL. He’s still a maiden but he goes particularly well here and he’s looked capable of winning one of these if there’s some cut in the ground. Texas Rock lurks on a dangerous mark.
17:35 – Neo Soul
Over this trip, Magniffico may reverse Cork placings with Drombeg Banner while My Eyes Adore You, whose stable has a good record in this race, is possibly the most interesting of the handicap debutants. Preference, though, is for NEO SOUL who made a pleasing comeback over 5f and makes plenty of appeal over this extra furlong with blinkers refitted.
