13:45 Ascot – Just Hubert (each way)

ITV Saturday gets under way here with a handicap over 1m4f. JUST HUBERT is not a well handicapped horse but he stays strongly and has very good each way claims. Trained by William Muir and Chris Grassick, my hope was last seen running at Goodwood over 2m and he had won on that course the time before. An each way chance.

14:05 Lingfield – Marlay Park

ITV are also at Lingfield Saturday for this handicap over 7f. This is wide open. MARLAY PARK must have decent claims for Jim Boyle and Jamie Spencer. His poor recent form has resulted in a falling handicap mark and as a horse with good Epsom form on grass this track should hold no fears.

14:20 Ascot – Al Aasy

This is a Listed race for older horses over 1m4f. AL AASY is not a horse I like as he seems to find nothing off the bridle. That said he’s definitely got class and he should be too good for this lot again for William Haggas and Jim Crowley. It’s interesting the Coronation Cup runner-up goes over 1m4f again here having been tried over 10f when last seen.

14:40 Lingfield – Walk Of Stars

Now the Listed Derby Trial over an extended 1m3f. WALK OF STARS has been hyped up since scoring at Newbury first time this season where he just did enough to deny Hafit. The general idea is that he’s got more to offer on the back of that effort and is an exciting prospect for Godolphin and Charlie Appleby. William Buick takes the ride.

15:00 Haydock – Severance (each way)

ITV show one race at Haydock in the big jumps event of the day, the Swinton Handicap Hurdle over nearly 2m. SEVERANCE is second run after a wind operation and should have eachway claims for Ben Pauling and Kielan Woods. The second last time at Aintree was a decent effort. Nice racing weight.

15:15 Lingfield – Emily Dickinson

This is the Listed Oaks Trial over an extended 1m3f. Most will be with EMILY DICKINSON for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. The daughter of Dubawi was a good winner in a big field at Naas last time and is going to relish a step up in distance.

15:30 Ascot – Spirit Of The Bay (each way)

Here’s a fillies’ handicap over 1m. SPIRIT OF THE BAY really should have an eachway chance for Clive Cox with William Cox taking off 3lb. My selection has already raced twice this season and performed well on both starts at Kempton and Doncaster last time. She’s vulnerable to an improver but will bring something to the table.

15:50 Lingfield – She Do

A Group 3 here in the Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes over 7f. This is wide open. SHE DO was fourth in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last season and might be good enough on that form. She ended up the campaign with a victory at Newmarket over 6f in a big field but this trip is no issue.

16:05 Ascot – One Ruler (each way)

Now the big betting race of the day in the Victoria Cup Handicap, a handicap over 7f. I want to stick with the in form James Doyle here and ONE RULER for Charlie Appleby. My hope has a huge weight but has been higher in the ratings in his time so it’s not impossible he can hump it to victory. One Ruler was last seen in Meydan staying on well behind the classy Real World and he should have each-way claims.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
