WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:30 Chester – Sunday Sovereign

I’m going for Sunday Sovereign for Rob Hornby and Tim Easterby. He’s had a run this season at Musselburgh, where he finished behind Zarzyni. He was drawn wide and got trapped that day but he’s down 2lbs from that. There’s a lot of pace just inside and in front of him. He’ll do me!

13:50 Worcester – Getmegold

I’m giving Getmegold a chance for Joe Tizzard. He won at Exeter in January on soft ground and ran okay at Chepstow in February. He pulled up last time out at Exeter on heavy ground but he’s been kept for better ground and this one. He has cheekpieces on for the first time too.

14:05 Chester – Koy Koy

I like Andrew Balding’s Koy Koy, who’s making his first appearance this season. He was second to Saga at Ascot last September but beat Borntobealeader at Newbury a couple of weeks later. I know Borntobealeader is rated in the low 70’s but Koy Koy couldn’t have won more impressively. He could follow City Runner and pounce late on.

Worcester Races

14:40 Chester – Harrow

This isn’t a wonderful race. Star of India’s form hasn’t been franked and he lost last time out at Newmarket. I keep going back to Harrow. He won a Nursery at York last August, beating Maglev, and he followed that up with a win at Doncaster in September. This year, he was second to Blue Trail at Kempton and then finished second again at Chelmsford. He’s an improver in a weak race.

15:10 Chester – Albaflora & Alounak (each way)

I like Albaflora for Rossa Ryan and Ralph Beckett and she could easily bolt up and win this. If you’re looking for one at a price, Alounak could be a good each-way shout. He was third to Sonnyboyliston in the Ebor Handicap at York last year. John Leeper could also be a good shout with an each-way punt.

15:40 Chester – Pride Of Priory

I’m keen on Pride Of Priory. He started last season as a three-year-old as he didn’t run when he was two. He finished third on his first and second starts at Chelmsford and Kempton, however, he won at Ripon and Haydock after that. Tom Marquand is on board for William Haggas too.
