Star Of Lady M impressed at Ripon last time out but I’m going to side with Absolutelyflawless for David Loughnane. She did plenty wrong at Southwell but still won and I loved the way she flew across the line. Laura Pearson was on board that day and she’s back in the saddle here.

13:50 Newton Abbot – Goa Lil

Rouge Vif was no match for Greaneteen at Sandown in April in his first run since a wind operation. It’s been a long time since he’s shown you something that really makes you want to get behind him. It’s a weak race and I’m going to go with Goa Lil for Nigel Twiston-Davies. Jordan Nailor claims 3lbs but he’s been active recently and he’s won a couple too.

14:05 Chester – Nymphadora

I’m with Nymphadora for Andrew Balding. She was in good form at the start of last season but dipped off. She beat Canonized at York in May but then didn’t really hit those heights again. She’s come down in the handicap and she’s got a good draw in stall one.

14:40 Chester – Above The Curve

The more you look at Above The Curve‘s win at Leopardstown last month, the harder it is to oppose her. I can’t see a way that Thoughts Of June turns the form around. She’s not got the best draw in stall seven but I still fancy her to get the job done for Joseph O’Brien.

15:10 Chester – New London

It’s hard to go against New London for William Buick and Charlie Appleby. Changingoftheguard won at Dundalk in April but I don’t see him causing New London many problems. I loved the way New London got down and dirty at Newmarket. The further he went, the better he got.

15:40 Chester – Tolstoy

I like the look of Tolstoy. He won at the back end of last year at Leicester on soft ground. He ran better than his finishing position at Newmarket last month too. With a run under his belt, Tolstoy could have improved.
