HANG IN THERE is a smart hurdler, winning twice in handicaps last season before finding the Welsh Champion Hurdle too much of a stretch. He shaped as if in need of the run at Aintree last month, but in the same breath he also faced a tough task, and he looks interesting now sent chasing. He had a habit of making mistakes over hurdles, but he is built for chasing, and may respect these larger obstacles more. Wild Max was also above average as a hurdler and presents the only obvious danger.

13:50 Eritage
All of these arrive with something to prove but ERITAGE is a course and distance winner who is fancied to bounce back in a first-time tongue tie. The eight-year-old has been below form on his last two starts dropped back in trip, but he remains unexposed at around this distance and the pick of his form makes him interesting. He is preferred to Falco Blitz, who returns to fences, while Rouge Vif needs this drop in grade to spark a major turnaround.
14:25 Malina Jamila
MALINA JAMILA boasts some good bumper form, notably her fourth in the Grade 2 Nickel Coin at Aintree last month, so she’s an appealing candidate upped in trip now switched to hurdles and edges the vote over the penalised Largy G, who won a well-contested event at Newbury last time. Sweet Moon is also respected making her Rules debut for a top yard.
15:00 Toronto
TORONTO took a big step forward when scoring on his second start over hurdles at Wincanton 24 days ago, the benefit of a recent run and more speed favouring conditions seemingly both bringing him forward, and he looks capable of defying a penalty on that evidence in a similarly weak race. Duke of Bronte has rejoined Rod Millman and will find this much less demanding than Aintree, so is put forward as the main danger.
13:30 Quick Draw
QUICK DRAW was a three-time winner over hurdles for Tom Lacey and was well backed on his debut for Nicky Henderson over fences at Newbury last month. He doesn’t look a natural in that sphere, though, and never looked like winning with the usual headgear left off. He now steps up in trip with the cheekpieces back on and he looks fairly treated now just 2 lb above his last winning mark. The Macon Lugnatic has fallen back down to his last winning mark so also needs considering.

16:00 Romain De Senam
ROMAIN DE SENAM has been working his way back to form in his three starts for David Pipe and is now racing off his last winning mark. The 10-year-old ran well when runner-up at Uttoxeter four days ago, finishing runner-up to one who had dropped in the weights, so he is taken to quickly go one place better in what looks a less-demanding race. Seddon looks to be the main danger having scored over 21 furlongs here last month.
16:30 Sweet Nightingale
SWEET NIGHTINGALE is taken to continue her progress and make her second start in a handicap a winning one. She took another step forward when third at Exeter behind David Pipe’s Kolisi, who has gone on to complete a hat-trick, and she shapes as though the step up in distance should suit. Karannelle also bumped into Kolisi on her last start so is respected, while Triple Nickle is interesting having dropped in the weights.
17:05 Camembert Electric
CAMEMBERT ELECTRIC has shown improved form since sent handicapping, opening her account at Wetherby in February and unlucky not to finish closer at Chepstow last time. She may have even pulled it out of the fire with a clearer passage, hampered leaving the back straight but finishing with a flourish. The step back up in trip will be in her favour and she looks a big player. We may not have seen the best Shore Shanty yet and she’s feared most.
