WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:30 – Look Out Louis
A 5f handicap gets us underway on Thursday and last year’s course winner LOOK OUT LOUIS looks a prime candidate to return to winning ways. He won over 6f at this venue off a rating of 79 from stall two and gets another plum draw in stall 3 for this contest. Julie Camacho’s runner made a very good return to action three weeks ago when second to Twilight Calls at Newmarket where he travelled through the race like a well-treated horse, He only got a 1lb hike for that and finished a half a length in front of the re-opposing Night on Earth who opposes from the stall 4 position.
14:05 – City Runner
CITY RUNNER finished second to the well-backed Wanees at Sandown in the one-mile Esher Cup that tends to throw up future winners. He travelled well on the front end and only got run out of it towards the end by half a length. He went up 5lb for that effort but a good draw now in stall 2 gives jockey Jamie Spencer the chance to dictate from the front again. Trainer Brian Meehan has made a decent start to the season and is operating at a 21 per cent strike rate.
14:40 – Cresta
Martyn Meade’s CRESTA pulled too strong on his seasonal debut at Newbury when fifth to Eydon but now wears a hood to help him settle better. He has some solid back form including when beating Modern Games at Leicester on debut before finishing fourth to the same rival in the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes over 7f at Newmarket in September before Modern Games went on to win the Breeders’ Cup juvenile Turf in the States. Any rain will help his chances as he was also second to Light Infantry in the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes over 7f last October.

15:10 – Invite
Andrew Balding’s runner needed the run when seventh to Max Vega last month on seasonal debut, but her run when winning the Listed Stand Stakes at this venue last September on good to soft ground was impressive. INVITE was then a little outclassed behind Eshaada (Albaflora a short-head second) in the Group 1 Filles & Mares Stakes on Champions Day. Again, any ease in the ground will see her at her best and she could take another step forward as a four-year-old this term.

15:40 – Pride of America
Scored at Newcastle on debut when switching to Amy Murphy’s yard and backed that up with a solid run at Pontefract last time when second to Barryshnikov on soft ground over this trip. With Jockey Silvestre De Sousa keeping the ride, he could try to make all again from stall 7 on PRIDE OF AMERICA who runs off the same mark as Pontefract.
