13:15 – London

Plenty of these arrive with a question to answer but LONDON wasn’t disgraced when fourth over course and distance last time, despite harming her chances by racing too freely. She had previously shaped better than the result would suggest in a mile-and-a-quarter classified stakes here, staying on well when left with no room inside the final 50 yards. This is a good opportunity for her to make her presence felt.

13:45 – Lucy Lightfood

LUCY LIGHTFOOT only beat a couple of rivals home on debut at Newmarket but she showed some promise, going as well as any two furlongs out before paying the price for racing keenly in the early stages. Lucy Lightfoot built on that promise when fourth at Brighton last week and she can have her effort upgraded slightly as she was denied a run when going well. There should still be more to come and she is fancied to get off the mark.

14:20 – Fair And Square

FAIR AND SQUARE remains a maiden after 15 starts but he has been running well of late, finishing runner-up on four of his last five outings. His consistency is hard to knock and he goes well around this speed-favouring venue, where he has yet to finish out of the places in four starts. William Buick takes the ride for the first time and Fair And Square can register an overdue success.

14:50 – Thesis

THESIS, a half-brother to Fillies’ Mile winner Quadrilateral, was well backed on debut at Sandown last season and shaped with encouragement to finish third. Described by Timeform as a ‘tall, attractive colt’, Thesis appealed as the type to make significant improvement and he took a step forward on his reappearance at Newbury last month, finishing runner-up to another smart prospect in a very warm maiden. That is the pick of the form on offer and Thesis is entitled to progress again, so he stands out as the one to beat.

15:25 – Isola Rossa

ISOLA ROSSA‘s two wins have both been achieved at this venue, with her most recent success coming over course and distance last November. Isola Rossa has performed creditably in three starts since and she caught the eye when fourth in a seven-furlong handicap here last time, finding herself short of room on the home turn when making headway. It’s likely she would have finished runner-up with better luck, but at least that performance highlighted that she’s still on a fair mark.

16:00 – Impeach

IMPEACH is at his best around here and registered a third course-and-distance success of the year when scoring a couple of weeks ago. This speed-favouring track clearly plays to the strengths of the front-running Impeach, who always looked in control at the head of affairs last time. He was well on top at the finish then so a 5lb rise in the weights should not prevent a bold bid.

16:35 – Lilkian

LILKIAN has been operating at the top of his game of late under 7 lb claimer Liam Wright. The pair finished runner-up at Wolverhampton in March and built on that to score over this course and distance. Lilkian, with Wright again aboard, ran at least as well in defeat when a close-up third at Wolverhampton last month and he holds obvious claims off the same mark here.
