13:50 Newmarket – Cemhaan

ITV starts Sunday with this handicap over 1m6f. A wide open event. A tough race to sort out. CEMHAAN might be in the interesting one here for George Baker and Hollie Doyle. Basically the five-year-old is improving all the time and he returned with a tasty success over 1m4f at Salisbury. He stays that trip strong but gets a little further and was at the right end of the handicap to put together a few wins. Eachway claims.

14:05 Hamilton – Tribal Art

This is a handicap over an extended 1m5f. TRIBAL ART got going too late when beaten at Nottingham last time but the run suggested he’s still capable off his current handicap mark and he was a good winner before that for Charlie and Mark Johnston at Wolverhampton. He has every chance under Joe Fanning.

14:25 Newmarket – Crenelle

Now the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes over 1m2f for 3yo fillies. I’m all over CRENELLE here and she would be my Nap of the day. The Gosden inmate was beaten at Southwell first time, but quickly put that to memory when scoring well at Newmarket. John Gosden holds her in high regard and she just might be a bit special under Frankie Dettori.

14:40 Salisbury – Spirit Mixer

A handicap over 1m6f. Another small field. SPIRIT MIXER brings consistent decent form and a recent run to the table and that might be enough for Andrew Balding and Callum Hutchinson who takes off 5lb. The gelding has already proved he stays and that comeback effort at this track will have blown the cobwebs away.

15:00 Newmarket – Dreamloper

This is the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes over 1m1f. DREAMLOPER improved throughout last season and it’s possible she can do so a little more this term for Ed Walker. My hope was third behind Saffron Beach and Mother Earth in the Sun Chariot Stakes and has gone from a rating of 83 to 109. Kieran Shoemark take the ride.

15:40 Newmarket – Tuesday & Ameynah (EW)

1,000 Guineas

Now the big one in the Group 1 1000 Guineas over 1m. Cheveley Park heroine Tenebrism is likely to go off favourite for Aidan O’Brien, the Irish champion who has banged in five out of the last six winners of this race and seven in total. However, I wonder if it might be Tenebrism’s stable companion TUESDAY who has the edge on Sunday!

Tuesday was defeated by the re-opposing Discoveries on debut at the Curragh but returned this season with a cozy success in a maiden at Naas. The third in that race had some solid maiden form and Tuesday scored comfortably. My feeling is that Tuesday might stay better than most of these. Tenebrism did incredibly well as a juvenile, as she landed a little race in March before coming back in September to bag the Group 1 Cheveley Park. Stamina is her big question mark.

I’ll also have a few quid eachway on AMEYNAH for Roger Varian. She really impressed me at Newmarket first time this season.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
