Sir Rumi ran an absolute cracker on return at Doncaster when looking like the run would put him spot on, but didn’t back up so well up in Scotland. He was far too keen in the early stages where the winner came from last position just to rubber-stamp how strong the early gallop was. He’s better than that and looks as if he can regain the winning thread on this much more conventional galloping track. He has a fitness edge on a few who return.
Heights Of Abraham hasn’t been out of the first two since swapping to the Keith Dalgleish yard and the trainer likes winners at this track. He signed off last when second in a three-way photo over 1m 6f at Nottingham off a mark of 73 and is reunited with James Sullivan who won on him at Musselburgh over 2m a fortnight before that. Haizoom can continue his improvement having snuck in at the bottom of the weights off a rating of 76 now for this 1m 5f test.
Arion’s bred to be a champion, being out of a full-sister to Australia. In keeping with her pedigree, she hit the line very strongly at Chelmsford for her win at the end of last season. She’s been forgotten about in the market as the Frankie Dettori/John Gosden (Crenelle) and William Buick/Charlie Appleby (With The Moonlight) combinations are dominating, but the two they run in here don’t look to be future champions.

Oman managed to win his maiden at this track and also a competitive handicap at Chester last season. The yard’s runners have been fit and ready to go for their return to action and he shouldn’t have too much to fear from some fairly exposed rivals in opposition. He may well be able to make all.

Patiently handled by her superstar trainer Sir Michael Stoute, this could be the year that Ville De Grace really blossoms having taken her form to another level the last twice we saw her in 2021. She may well have most fear from the French challenger Ebaiyra, but she does look to be more effective over further. Ville De Grace also has an entry York on 12th May and might well be able to double up.
We only saw Tuesday on one occasion last season and she went down fighting at the Curragh just behind a very good type in Discoveries. She made no mistake on her return at Naas and you would imagine in time she’s going to stay in excess of the mile trip. However, she is from a very classy family and should not be underestimated with the Aidan O’Brien stable’s first string, Tenebrism, looking a suspect stayer.
